After months of planning and parties (with an abundance of cake and good wishes), Redstone bid farewell to President and CEO John R. Dickson, IV yesterday as he began his well deserved retirement. John spent his entire career serving faithfully in senior services. We wish him every blessing upon this new chapter in his life!

Last week we held our annual Youth Healthcare Institute! Students from surrounding school districts came to Redstone for a full week to learn about careers and pathways in healthcare. Students met with a panel of employees such as the Infection Control Specialist, Lifestyle Director, Director of Nursing, Maintenance Supervisor and more. Students also experienced a week of activities like making ice cream from scratch, one-on-one activities with residents, and CPR training. These students look forward to being enrolled as volunteers to further expand their experience and knowledge of senior healthcare!

We would like to invite people with Parkinson’s, loved ones, and caregivers to join us at the Redstone Parkinson’s Support Groups. Our groups are open to anyone in the Redstone community and to the general public who have been impacted by Parkinson’s Disease. We meet each month in a safe space where people can speak their minds, compare notes with peers, and meet movement disorder experts who can help your quality of life while living with Parkinson’s. Please see group details below. We hope you will join us for fellowship and support in your walk with Parkinson’s!

Our travel club Redstone Goes has a fun getaway planned in early August! All ages are welcome and you don't need to be a resident to travel with us. This is a great opportunity to see if you enjoy group travel. We sure do!

We have three rooms left for a great trip that we have coming up on Monday, August 4th! This two night trip will provide highlights of Erie and Niagara Falls (from the American side) and will be a great summer getaway. This is also a great trip to do as a single since the price isn't much different. Stay adventurous!

Each flower represents a promise to remember, to honor, and to keep fighting for a world without Alzheimer’s. Our community 'planted' a Promise Garden at each campus, supporting the Alzheimer's Association and The Longest Day in the fight against Alzheimer's. Together, we’re planting hope. 💜
