O B I T U A R Y
Edward “Eddie” Jones, age 73, of Cave City, peacefully passed away at his home on Monday, April 27, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. Born on September 12, 1952, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, he was the beloved son of the late Andrew Murel and Rachel Curry Jones.
Eddie shared a beautiful life and unwavering love with his devoted wife of forty-six years, Patricia Houchens Jones, who survives him. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, commitment, and deep family bonds.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Eddie retired from RR Donnelley after more than 30 years in the press room. He took great pride in his work and the life he provided for his family. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, where his love for the Lord was evident, not only in his words but in the way he lived and the values he passed down to his children and grandchildren.
Though Eddie was a man of quiet nature and simple pleasures, those who knew him best cherished his sharp wit and warm sense of humor. He had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, never seeking recognition in return. In his free time, Eddie found joy in riding motorcycles and collecting knives, and he enjoyed spending time shooting—pastimes that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and his independent spirit.
Above all, Eddie will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted family man, and a steady presence in the lives of those who knew him. Besides his wife Patricia, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Jonathan Jones of Hopkinsville, Rebecca Logsdon (Joseph) of Glasgow and Daniel Jones (Jacklyne) of Daleville, AL; grandchildren, Jesse Logsdon and Landon Logsdon and a sister, Elaine Purlee of Horse Cave, his cousin: Phyllis Milby (Randy) of Greensburg.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Jones.
