It truly was the best day ever for Paulette as she got to meet her brand‑new great‑granddaughter, Francesca, who was born toward the end of March! 🍼✨

Paulette, Sarah, and sweet baby Frankie enjoyed some much‑needed time together in the sunshine, soaking up every precious moment. Paulette couldn’t have been any happier—and we’d say Frankie looked pretty content too! 💕☀️

At Hempfield Manor, our staff is entitled to one 30‑minute break and two 15‑minute breaks per 8‑hour shift—and yes, this policy applies to both 2‑legged and 4‑legged staff! 😊

🍪 Girl Scout Cookie Kindness 🍪

Brittney, Junior Leader, along with Abby and Grace from Troop 27099, chose Hempfield Manor as the lucky recipients of 40 boxes of Girl Scout cookies—and we couldn’t be more grateful! 💚

They personally delivered cookies to both residents and staff, instantly brightening everyone’s day. Best of all, each person received their favorite kind (a very important detail! 😉).

We loved welcoming these amazing Girl Scouts and are already looking forward to them setting up a cookie table here during the next cookie season!

🌟 Therapy Fundraiser for Parkinson’s Disease

Our therapy team hosted a wonderful fundraiser with all proceeds donated to support Parkinson’s Disease 💜.

For just $5, participants enjoyed a delicious brunch 🧇 that included a waffle with a choice of toppings, scrambled eggs 🍳, sausage, fresh fruit 🍓, and either orange juice or coffee ☕.

The event truly brightened our morning😊 while supporting a meaningful cause.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who participated, a total of $340 was raised 💵. To add to the excitement, one of our family members was the lucky winner of the gift cards that were raffled off 🎁.

Thank you to our therapy team and all who helped make this fundraiser such a success!

🐰🥚 Annual Easter Bunny Battle 🥚🐰

Residents had a blast watching (and laughing!) at our Annual Easter Bunny Battle!
Our fearless bunnies faced off in a series of challenges including:

Racing to the finish 🏃‍♂️🐇
Carrying eggs on spoons without dropping them 🥚🥄
Drawing a bunny without looking 🎨😂
Balloon‑popping races 🎈
And plenty of energetic bunny hopping!

The competition was fierce, the laughs were nonstop, and the Easter spirit was strong.

Being an Easter Bunny at Hempfield Manor is no easy task! We appreciate all the blood, sweat, and tears that Christine and Andrew put into the Bunny Battle.

To clarify—there was definitely no blood, there was plenty of sweat, and the only tears belonged to Christine… because she lost. 😄🐣

🩺🌟 Physician Spotlight: Dr. Kevin Wong 🌟🩺

Dr. Kevin Wong is one of our valued physicians and proudly serves as Medical Director here at Hempfield Manor. He has been associated with Hempfield Manor since the facility first opened and stepped into the Medical Director role when our previous director retired—continuing a long legacy of leadership and commitment.

Dr. Wong has been practicing Family Medicine since 1982, following the completion of his residency at Forbes. His dedication to patient care spans decades, and his steady presence has been an essential part of our community from the very beginning.

When he’s not working, Dr. Wong enjoys spending time with his family—whether cheering on the Pens, traveling on cruises, or visiting Hawaii. He was recently in Hawaii with his wife, Shirley, enjoying some well‑earned time away.

That dedication doesn’t stop when he’s off‑site, though! As captured in this photo taken by his daughter, Dr. Wong was answering a call from a Hempfield Manor nurse—while riding bumper cars on a cruise ship in the Atlantic this past October! (She had just bumped into him at the time!)

We’re incredibly grateful for Dr. Wong’s unwavering commitment, leadership, and always‑on‑call support. Thank you for everything you do for our residents and our team! 💙
