Has anybody, out there, in Facebook land, been in a nursing home, or recently visited one,...!?! A lot of them have MUCH to be desired!!! Over many, many, years,...I have worked in a ton of these facilities! My nursing education is thru RN education,...minus not yet sitting for the RN boards. I hold an LPN license, in good standing! I have had both civilian/military, nursing experiences! I have NEVER had my license revoked/suspended! Nursing is a very challenging, and a times, very difficult one! You are responsible for the lives of many others! At one point, while working at a local county jail, I had to pass meds to up to 500 Inmates! Stress, to the max!!! I was even attacked, by one of the Inmates! I quit! There are too many things, there, beyond one's control!!! Law suits abound, there, too! So far, I have NEVER lost, pertaining to any legal issues!!! And, I want to keep it that way! I have malpractice insurance! I have a lawyer, too! I am fairly aware of the business aspects, of nursing homes, too! With an accounting degree, too,...it helps! Nursing home Residents, may put on their call bell,...and have them answered several hours later!?! Is this right,...no!!! We work on a very LIMITED staff!!! The BETTER ones, are the non-profit ones! I have worked for both! I may just write a book, on the nursing home industry,...in the USA. Yes, I will get it reviewed, first, for typos. etc. Point one: you'll get the very BEST care, being in your own surroundings, with a nurse who only tends to your prescribed needs!!! I charge very reasonably!!! It costs over $300.00, per day, in a skilled nursing home! I have worked, primarily, in skilled facilities! I can do a plethora of nursing skills! They include almost 100% of all nursing, allowable, functions! Yes, I need a physician's orders, to follow thru! And, then I continually assess, plan, implement, and evaluate, the patient's progress! I report to the doctor, as needed! The care continues,...for as long as needed! I have helped many improve, and go home. And, I have been there, at their bedside, and prayed with them, as they passed! One man was terrified, prior to passing, related to being very evil, during his life. He slept around, lied, stole, and cheated, etc. I stayed, at his bedside, and prayed with him,...he wanted the prayers,...and I told him, we have a loving, and forgiving, God. He left this earthly dimension,...feeling a bit less scared! He was built like John Wayne! I also am an licensed, and ordained, non-denominational, Christian minister. I DON'T push spirituality,...unless asked, or directed!!! Again, with both the education, and experience, I can offer a lot, of nursing services, for way less than most other Home Health companies!
