For twenty five years, ASC has been a place where meaningful connections, compassionate care, and unforgettable moments shape every day. To celebrate this milestone, we asked our residents and team members to finish the phrase “ASC is…” and share the first thing that comes to mind.

Special thank you to our Unit Manager, Dee, and Fluorescent Exotics for bringing in a Gecko and few snakes to look at! We enjoyed learning about these reptiles and it was a first time for many to hold a Gecko!

Congratulations Doris Bate, CNA/Preceptor, our Quest for Excellence winner for 2025! We are looking forward to honoring this year's outstanding Quest Winners at the banquet on November 13 at the Marriott in Indianapolis.

Doris joined the team at Hickory Creek at Greensburg in June of 2019 and recently became a certified ASC Preceptor this past April. She began her career as a CNA in 1996 and in August, she will be celebrating 29 years of dedicating herself to caring for others!

Growing up the daughter of a nurse, Doris was entertained by all the stories her mother would come home and share about her residents. The pride her mother had in her work was a true inspiration to Doris, and the reason she went into healthcare. Doris is the loving mother of 6 children, 16 grandchildren and 1 adorable dog. She and her husband, Chris, enjoy spending time together on a secluded country oasis they call home.

Doris shared, “I knew from a young age that I wanted to take care of others. My favorite part of being at Hickory Creek at Greensburg is working with my colleagues and the fun we have doing what we all love – caring for residents.”

Bri Grow, our DNS, said, “Doris is so much fun to work with and incredibly dependable. She has been a huge asset to our nursing team, and as our preceptor, she takes great pride in helping educate and guide our CNAs.”

Executive Director, Brooke Thies, said, “Doris is an absolute joy to be around and makes everything seem like fun. She loves her work and our residents, and her drive and determination to give the best care is infectious”.

Doris loves everyone, and everyone loves Doris!
