We had a busy Saturday this past weekend! Students in the Health Promotion & Nutrition Education class led participants in a fun meal-prep session. Burritos and Bowls were on the menu! We also had members of the Nutrition Club welcome incoming students at the Activities Fair.

So proud of our seniors in the Integrated Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics program! 🎓✨

They had the opportunity to bring nutrition to life by providing engaging, hands-on education to school-aged children at Fort Allen Elementary. From building healthy habits to making learning fun, they did an incredible job inspiring the next generation.

Experiences like this are what it’s all about—applying knowledge, building confidence, and making a real impact in the community.

🍌🫐This week, students in our Community Nutrition Class discussed the benefits of the MIND Diet with the women at the YWCA in Greensburg. They made a yummy Blueberry and Greens Smoothie and enjoyed a luncheon afterwards in celebration of International Women’s Day!

In Health Promotion and Nutrition Education, our students taught the SHU CDC preschoolers about breakfast around the world. The children were excited to learn what children in other countries eat for breakfast. The 3rd and 4th year Integrated Master’s students developed a great lesson and had fun with the children.

Alum Elizabeth Kealey recently met Carol Ireton-Jones, a prominent and highly-recognized nutrition therapy specialist known for developing the Ireton-Jones Equations for estimating energy requirements in hospitalized patients.
