Many stroke patients look like they're doing wellβ€”but still struggle at home. Our latest piece highlights cognitive fatigue, which affects up to 70% of survivors. It impacts memory, attention, and decision-makingβ€”not just energy. This often leads to frustration for families who don't expect it. If you're seeing patients who seem "fine" but aren't functioning well at home, I'd be glad to help support that transition.

In recognition of Nurses Week, I've been thinking about what happens after patients leave your care. Shorter stays and more complex needs increase the risk of readmissions, and many issues arise at home-confusing medications, missed meals, mobility concerns, and subtle changes that go unnoticed.

These are support gaps, not clinical failures. If you have patients who would benefit from extra help at home, I'd love to extend your care beyond discharge and support safer transitions.

It is Movement Monday, and this week we are spotlighting Dance for PD! πŸ’ƒπŸ’œ

Dance for PD is a program that offers dance classes specifically designed for people living with Parkinson's disease. Founded in 2001 through a partnership between the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group, the program has grown into a worldwide community with classes available in person and online.

Dance for PD classes focus on movement, rhythm, and expression in a welcoming, joyful environment. Participants explore balance, coordination, and mobility through dance, all while connecting with others who understand the journey.
