1956 – 2025

Catherine Ann Norris Allen, 68, of Emory Branch, Maloneton KY, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus OH.
She was born on July 28, 1956, at Mercy Hospital in Portsmouth OH, the youngest daughter of the late Roy Everett & Catherine Elnora Hodge Norris of Sciotodale, Scioto County OH.
She was proceeded in death along with her parents in 1984 by a sister, Joyce Arnetta Norris in 1937.
She has survived by her husband, Frederick Earl Allen of Maloneton KY, whom she married on April 1, 1978 in Portsmouth OH; a daughter, Amy Leigh Faulkner and her husband T.J. of Kingston OH; two grandchildren, Titus James Faulkner and Chloe Faye-Ann Faulkner both of Kingston OH; two brothers, Harold Ray (Butch) Norris and his wife Donna of New Bloomington OH and Dennis Michael (Mike) Norris and his wife Tammy of Sebring FL along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
She was a 1974 graduate of Wheelersburg High School in Wheelersburg OH and 1978 graduate of Southern Ohio Skills Center in Jackson OH, with a diploma in Clerical Accounting. She has been a member of Sciotodale Free Will Baptist Church in Sciotodale OH since 1967 and a past member of their Ladies Auxiliary. She is a past member of Sciotodale Civic Club, a member of the Scioto County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, a member of the Ohio Genealogical Society. Along with that she was a member of the Greenup County Genealogy & Historical Society where she was the current President and Secretary and Newsletter Editor; a member of the Greenup County Homemakers where she was the current Secretary and past President; the present Secretary of the Greenup Club; she also spent many hours volunteering in the Greenup Library’s Genealogy Room, attended the monthly book club and was a member of the Rook Club.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace OH, by brother Charles (T.J.) Faulkner Jr.
There will be no Visitation.
In Lieu of flowers, Catherine requested donations to be made in her honor to the Arthritis Foundation or to the Greenup County Genealogy & Historical Society.

Carolyn Faye Boll, 65, of Ashland KY, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 17, 2025, at her residence.
She was born in Russell KY on August 19, 1959, a daughter of the late Elmer Eugene & Opal Melvin Menshouse.
Carolyn was of the Christian faith. The highlight of her day was talking to her sister Katie. She was a former greeter for Walmart and a 1978 graduate of Blue River Valley High School in Moreland IN.
She has survived by her husband, James Robert Boll of Ashland KY; a brother, Elmer Eugene Menshouse Jr. and his wife Shonda of Muncie IN; two sisters, Donna Sue Withrow of Grayson KY and Katie Stancombe of Richmond IN; a special cousin, Rose Humphrey of Wurtland KY along with a host of extend family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at noon, Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Melvin Family Cemetery by brother Rodney Vance.
There is no Visitation.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must announce my father, James Steven Miller, passed away on March 7th, 2025, at his home in South Shore KY at the age of 57.
My Dad was many things but a patient man he was not so I will try to keep this as succinct as possible. He left this world the same way he lived, on his own terms. Uncompromising, headstrong, and loyal to his family. He will continue to be loved in death as he was in life.”
He was born in Sanford FL on December 11, 1967, a son of Gomer Steven Burgoyne and Paula Miller and was a drywall specialist working in the construction trade.
He was preceded in death along with his father by a sister Michelle Fares.
He is survived along with is mother by two sons, Tyler Miller of Blacklick OH and Jesse Miller and his wife Carolina of Reynoldsburg OH; his granddaughter, Rhiannon; seven siblings, Deedee Pridgen- Bennett, Deborah Pridgen-Sweat, Teresa Foley, Melissa Miller, Melinda Aiken Trumpower, Vicki Tifft and Michael Pridgen along with several other extended family members and friends.
There are no services scheduled at this time.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date in Ohio.

Jerrett Preston Melvin, 31, of Flatwoods KY, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, following a sudden illness.
He was born in Ashland KY on June 30, 1993, a son of the late Connie Lou Melvin in 2010.
Jerrett worked as a Caregiver for Crossroads of Hope. He was a very talented writer, as well as an adamant Video Gamer. He loved to cook and create new sauces. Jerrett loved his family and friends most of all.
He was proceeded in death along with his mother by a grandfather, Gary Melvin.
He had survived by his grandmother, Icie Baker Melvin of Flatwoods KY; two uncles, Preston Melvin (Dana) of Shepherdsville KY and Jerry Melvin and his wife Betty of Flatwoods KY; two cousins Whitney Melvin and Luke Melvin both of Flatwoods KY along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Wright’s Funeral Home, by Dr. Thomas Melvin.
Burial is to be held at the Baker-Smith Cemetery at a later date.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM till the time of service on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
