- improves cardiovascular health, taking the stairs is an intense workout with accelerates your heat rate. this can help prevent high blood pressure and may reduce weight gain, diabetes, and other heart-dieses illnesses.
- burns more calories than jogging, The average person will burn at least 0.1 calories for every step going up (that's one calorie for every 10 steps). They will also burn 0.05 calories for every step going down (so, one calorie for every 20 steps on the way down).

RESICPE OF THE DAY! Skillet Cajun Spiced Fish with Tomatoes

Here's another fast and easy lunch and dinner idea for the week!
prep time: 5 mins/ cook time: 20 mins/ Total Time: 25 mins

Ingredients:
*1 tbs olive oil
*4 6oz piece white fish fillets
*3/4 cup chopped onion.
*2 cloves of minced garlic
*3/4 cup of diced bell pepper
*2 1/2 cups of chopped tomatoes
*1tbsp Cajun spice seasoning

Instructions:
*In a deep skillet, cook onion and garlic in olive oil on med heat until soft.
*Add tomatoes, pepper and spices, stir and cook until tomatoes are soft, 2-3 min
*Lay fish in the sauce, cover and cook on med-low for 12-15 min

Just because were on this weight loss journey doesn't mean you can't have a few snacks here and there. Eat when you're hungry, not eating will not benefit you. Having healthy snacks throughout the day can give you energy and make you feel better and refreshed. Plus eating something throughout the day makes you less hungry and you won't eat as much. Here are a few snacks that you might enjoy: Mixed nuts, Greek yogurt and mixed berries, apple slices and peanut butter, Kale chips, cucumber and hummus, chia pudding.

RECIEPE OF THE DAY: Greek turkey burgers!

This a great and easy recipe for dinner or lunch, it takes a total of 30 mins to prepare.

Ingredients:
*1 1/2 pounds 93% lean ground turkey
*1tbs minced garlic
*1 tsp. ground cumin
*2 tbs dried oregano
*1/3 cup kalamata olives (finely chopped)
*3oz crumbled feta cheese
*1 cup chopped spinach
*Salt and pepper
*Olive oil spray

Instructions:
*Preheat oven 420
*Add all ingredients in a large bowl and mix.
*Scoop out meat and make 1 1/2 thick patties
*Once formed use thumb to make an indentation to keep from forming a dome
*Set an oven safe pan over mid-heat, spray olive oil.
*Cook on each side for 3 to 4 min
*Then place in the oven to cook for an additional 11 min until internal heat reaches 165 degrees
enjoy these burgers with a toasted whole wheat bun, butter lettuce, cucumber slices, thin red onions slices, sliced tomato, and a little Greek yogurt instead of mayo. or pair a patty with salad, rice, quinoa, or even roasted vegetables. (optional). A great option for the week especially if you meal prep!

It's very important to be mindful of what you're eating on a daily basics. Although you need to watch the amount of food you consume; the quality of the food is just as important. Food is fuel and helps our bodies run properly. You want to lose weight and feel good at the same time, and that can be difficult if you don't eat the correct foods.It is important to pick foods that give you energy vs making you feel sluggish.

Reading food labels and knowing the different foods that will bring your body the fuel it needs is a great start. It takes a little practice but before you know it you'll be a pro and it will come very effortlessly. Grab a buddy and switch out some of those sweet, sugary and unhealthy treats and opt for something that will help you in the long term.

Believing in yourself can boost your mentality and get you motivated. The only person stopping you from doing what you want to do is you. Here are a few tips to help keep yourself motivated towards your goals:

-Remember your why
-Put your goals on a calendar or somewhere that is easily seen everyday
-set small, more obtainable goals
-track your progress
-Reward yourself for the small wins just like the big wins
-Change your environment
-Listen to upbeat/positive music

Sometimes it is very easy to get discouraged or stay consistent when you feel like you are not seeing the results in the time frame you'd like. Losing weight is hard and takes times. That's why it's best to consider this journey a lifestyle change and not a diet. It's going to take more than a week to get the results you want. It may even take a little longer than you expected. However you just need to push through, stay positive and stay consistent. Just like you didn't gain all the weight overnight the same is for losing it. Want something fast and healthy in the morning or even as a snack? You could use this quick yogurt parfait treat. Things you'll need include:

- 6oz. non fat plain Greek yogurt
-1tbsp honey
-1/2 cups of berries
-1tbsp chopped walnuts

Mix together and ENJOY! This is a super simple and fast treat for those crazy weekday mornings or something to reach for when you have those urges to snack.

WELLNESS TIP OF THE DAY!

Reorganizing your plate is a great way to balance your diet and an efficient way to lose weight.

- Protein: fish, tofu, beans, nuts, limit red meat and cheese avoid pork, which can be high in sodium
- Vegetables: fill half you plate with veggies. They are low in calories and high in fiber which help you feel full.
- Grains and dairy(limited): limit milk to 1-2 serving/day. Eat a variety of whole grains (whole grain pasta and whole wheat bread) and limit refined grains ( white rice and white bread)
- Healthy carbohydrates: these are our healthy carbs, such as quinoa, oats. apples, bananas etc.
- Limit high calorie condiments, dressings, sauces and spreads.

Reorganizing your plate to focus on protein, vegetables, carbohydrates and other healthy foods will make you create a balance diet and will support with weight loss.

here is something for you sweet tooth lovers. craving something sweet and fast.
first you need a tub of sugar free cool whip.
then you would need a box of instant sugar free pudding mix (choose your flavor)
you will also need 1/8-1/4 cups of vanilla almond milk.

MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY: start your Monday off strong with these five tips to help you stay motivated and to push through the week.

- protein every meal, aim for having 30m grams of protein in every meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner)
- find an exercise you like, there are lots of exercises you can do that don't involve the gym (yoga, Pilates, swimming, hiking, YouTube, etc.)
- make a check list and have an end goal, writing down your progress and seeing it visually will keep you motivated when you feel like you aren't getting anywhere.
- be accountable, workout or start a diet with a friend, motivate each other to do well and to reach other and better goals.
- be patient and stay positive, this journey is going to take some time just remember your end goal and remember where you start and what you're doing this for.
It's always hard to start somewhere but once you stay consistent you feel inevitable.

Using smaller bowls & plates help you intake less calories and control your portions which can aid in your weight loss. This helps you with creating the habit of eating less during your meals.
