🚨The most common surgical consult for Dr. Pace in our office, in , is for - also known as eyelid lift or lid reduction surgery. 🚨
This gentleman had both upper and both lower lid blepharoplasty. During this surgery, the excess skin and fatty tissues in the upper lids is surgically removed. The after results are approximately 2 months later. He is thrilled with his outcome. 👏👏👏

🛑Not all droopy eyelids are the same!🛑 Most people think of baggy skin as the main culprit, but a weak or stretched out eyelid lifting muscle can also be a cause, as in this case 👀. This patient had a brown spot near his right lower lid that had been slowly growing over years. After biopsy confirmed melanoma, Mohs surgery was performed, followed by oculoplastic reconstruction with a local flap.

Not all droopy eyelids are age-related. This patient has a rare disease that causes all of the muscles around her eyes and eyelids to slowly stop working correctly. Being able to open your eyelids is even more important to see the world around you when your eyes can’t move well. Her surgery has allowed her eyebrow muscles to assist her eyelids in opening, greatly improving her quality of life.
