A little bio on our new Therapist Rockford Cook ....

Rockford (Rocky) Cook is a licensed counselor in the state of Kentucky, as well as, a native of Muhlenberg County where his mother’s side of the family was born and raised. He states that, “I am a very proud grandson of a Peabody Coal Miner”. Rocky received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from WKU in 1987, his Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from WKU in 1998, and is currently working on finishing up his Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from WKU.
While his professional experience has varied and taken him many places (business, psychology, counseling, and working for the Kentucky State Police as both a trooper and detective), one common thread runs throughout and that is the ability to deal with people on many different levels. Everyone struggles and we all have our issues to deal with. Life is not perfect and there is never any shame in asking for help. One of the best gifts you might ever give someone is simply to listen. A kind word is a very powerful thing. Focused training and experience Rocky has dealt with include; 1) addiction, 2) anxiety, 3) depression, 4) family communication, 5) family business consulting, 6) grief, and 7) trauma.
In his spare time, Rocky enjoys spending time with his three amazing grandchildren on the family farm, hunting, fishing, horses, and anything outdoors (especially the mountains in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana)!

We at Illuminare Behavioral Health are pleased to announce we will be offering Grief Group Counseling for the month of September hosted by Rockford Cook. Starting Sept. 6 from 3:00-5:00pm for those grieving the loss of a loved one.

Grief counseling is intended to help the client grieve in a healthy manner, to understand and cope with emotions they experience and to ultimately find a way to move on.

We feel this can be accomplished through group therapy, individual therapy or family therapy.

Our goal is to draw people together and encourage them to share their grief.

We gladly accept cash, checks, credit cards, Ky Medicaid, bcbs, and humana

A little background from our provoider..
My name is Holly Benningfield. I received my Professional Counseling Degree from Liberty University in 2015. Therapist is my second career. However, I felt called to be a therapist early in life. I have lived in Greenville KY for 20 years. It is where I raised my children and am now raising my grandchildren.
