Another training in the bag! Proud to announce I completed the Foundation Training this weekend, for a second time actually!

I have a pretty solid track record of repeating courses and training that have made a lasting impact on my skill set, mindset, and personal life — myofunctional trainings, oral motor courses, throat/neck bodywork courses, breathwork trainings, etc.

I need to embody it first then come back and refine it for in-practice use. I say this because I live what I give … I was my first patient and am forever a reservoir of curiosity into this work of breathing, speaking, swallowing, sleeping, moving, and being well.

I specifically wanted help this time with my nasal symmetry, which has been slowing shifting to my left even after a Septoplasty some 8 years ago. I’m pleased to say I feel more open and even after some facial fascia work and will be continuing to get this support and offering it to clients as well.

I never offer a service or therapy approach I haven’t used personally. The work of opening, mobilizing, and supporting fascia is huge.

I’m so excited to get my hands on your fascia!

Stay tuned for new in-person fascia work offerings coming for existing clients!

IN-PERSON APRIL EVENT: BREATHE + BE

This practice invites you to discover your airway architecture, listen to what your breath is telling you, and build a breathwork practice that is specific to your body.

In this 90-minute, grounding and instructional experience, we’ll weave together functional breathwork, somatic integration, and meditation to support:

• healthy airway mechanics
• nasal breathing and tongue rest posture
• nervous system regulation
• embodied awareness you can take into daily life

This is not about forcing the breath. It’s about understanding it, supporting it, and letting it work for you.

Thanks to everyone who showed up for Functional Breathwork this morning! We learned about correct tongue rest posture, CO2 tolerance, diaphragmatic breathing, and how to better communicate with our bodies and breath.

These tools are already within you. You simply have to listen.

Stay tuned for future workshop dates!

You’re not behind.
You’re right on time.
Everything up to this point has been resistance training.

Every mouth breathing habit you’re now aware of.
Every moment you’ve caught yourself clenching your teeth.
Every time you’ve asked yourself .

That awareness is the beginning of airway training.

Because breathing efficiently isn’t just about lungs — it’s about muscle function, posture, and pressure.

Your tongue is a skeletal muscle.
Your jaw muscles are skeletal muscles.
Your lips, cheeks, and throat all rely on coordinated muscle activity to support nasal breathing and stable airway mechanics.

And just like any other muscles in the body, they can be trained.

Myofunctional therapy helps retrain these muscles so your tongue can rest fully up to the palate, your lips stay sealed with ease, and your breath moves quietly in and out of your nose.

Over time this supports:
• improved breathing efficiency
• better sleep quality
• reduced snoring and grinding
• stronger airway stability

Small reps.
Daily practice.
Consistent awareness.

That’s how resistance training works — for your body and your airway.

So if you’re just starting to notice your breathing, your tongue posture, or your airway health…

You’re not behind.
You’re right on time.

I feel incredibly grateful that the work I love is the work I do. I also know I intentionally created a container of what my younger and present self needed/needs in the areas of breathing, speaking, swallowing, and all that goes with it. That is how I practice today — constantly layering best practices in speech therapy, myofunctional therapy, functional breathwork, airway health, bodywork, meditation, movement, and mindfulness.

It is an honor to help support you and your family.

Fun day yesterday learning about my body’s overall health. Beyond proud to say my biological age is a whole decade younger than my chronological age! This is especially encouraging when I think about how hard I’ve worked to overcome the decade of Adderall abuse, chain smoking, and wreaking havoc on my health in my 20s and 30s!

I was able to find my VO2 Max, resting metabolic rate, and overall bone density.

I honestly didn’t know what my VO2 Max would be but really excited it’s above average. This was the most exciting part for me, given how much effort I put into my airway and breathing mechanics. Can’t wait to see how far it can go from here!

I also was excited to get baseline date for my bone density, which only decreases as we age! The better it is now will help extend the life of my body as I continue to age.

For me, learning how to breathe well has been the foundation for all that I am now. I know things will be hard, challenging, and interesting. I expect it but I don’t fear it. Because if I know how to breathe, I can simply notice it without internalizing it.

I learned these skills of resilience from myofunctional therapy, yoga training, energy work, meditation, therapy, breathwork, journaling, resistance training, nutrition, connection with others, and believing I can.

Being “healthy” can mean a lot of different things, but grateful what I’ve been doing and teaching to others is working.

Cheering you (and me) on!

If your jaws get tired during meals, you choke on pills, or are a slow eater … you need to start resistance training your jaws … and tongue … and probably your lips, too.

Just like the rest of your body, the muscles of the face and airway are skeletal muscles — which means they respond to training, repetition, and progressive load.

The tongue, lips, and jaw work together every single time you chew, swallow, speak, and breathe. But if these muscles are weak, poorly coordinated, or constantly compensating for structural issues (like tongue-tie, narrow palate, or airway restriction), everyday tasks like eating can feel surprisingly exhausting.

That’s where orofacial myofunctional therapy comes in.

Through targeted exercises, we train the muscles of the tongue, lips, and jaw to improve strength, stamina, stability, and coordination — the same principles used in traditional resistance training.

When these muscles function well, several things get better:
• chewing efficiency
• swallowing mechanics
• breathing patterns
• speech clarity
• airway stability during sleep

Because the goal isn’t just stronger muscles — it’s better function for breathing, eating, speaking, and sleeping.

And yes … this means your tongue has a workout plan too.
