In room activities and 1:1 The challenge of in room activities the residents enjoy and feel needed and involved in the community is timeless.

Some residents aren't overly social and sometimes we are quarantined. There are many reasons to plan simple room activities.

Puppies and dogs in costumes Parade for Halloween. Horses, sheep and goats work too. Anything Furry that will visit and can wear an outfit and do pet therapy room to room is great.

Sketch a pumpkin on a canvas and Bring out the paints, Pour some cider and paint some pumpkins. It helps a lot for them to have a simple pencil outline to start with and they can add their own twist or touch.

Pull out the cart and cover it in fall pumpkins and gourds and let the residents make faces on them. Fabric, felt, Googly eyes, Foam stickers, Silk flowers, glitter, Elmers Glue...anything wil work

Hand out an exercise list to the residents and that will give them something to follow while you are doing hallway exercise programs.

Art fun. Summer theme.
Vacation memories story telling.
Summer music, movies and dance.
Beach picture half ocean half sand and shells. Pour art, a little messy but doable.
Art in a bag.
Sun catchers and wind chimes, bird feeders, stepping stones for the garden, tea cup bird baths, window art.
Personalized puzzles, family tree story telling journaling, photobook organizing. Encourage your families to send pictures and let the resident make a collage or photo book(label the pictures).

Hallway ball pong is fun 6 low laundry baskets and a few medium size balls that bounce. We had a blast! You get a point for any balls that go into the baskets.

Send families a note to get bird and squirrel feeders and seeds. Families and friends and hospice will answer.

Glamour shot comparison. Have them get all fancied up like a picture of them when they are young and put the picture side by side. Have them give you a comment ....Still going strong.....still looking good.....how do you like me now.....The family may have to get you a picture from when they were young. See if you can fix their hair and make up too. Jewelry or a tie...go all out for fun. Make them feel beautiful.

Bird feeder game. If you can put a feeder outside their window and see how many different birds visit. Humming bird feeders are good too.
