The South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse released its 2020 County-Level Profiles on Substance Use-Related Indicators
Report. In this report, it highlights:

In Greenville County, 14.45 people per each 100,000 individuals overdosed and died due to opioid use. Additionally, for each 100,000 people, 136.26 individuals were admitted into the hospital for an opioid related incident.

In Greenwood County, 15.83 people per each 100,000 individuals
overdosed and died due to opioid use. Additionally, for each 100,000 people, 743.97 individuals were admitted into the hospital for an opioid related incident.

These numbers are alarming! And for
Those of you who may struggle with opiates, or know of a loved one who may suffer, I want to let you know that great organizations exist to help combat this opioid epidemic. I feel extremely fortunate to personally know Ms. Cece Paul-Hill , the Director and Founder of Synergy counseling of Greenwood
and commend her for taking this big step to provide Suboxone treatment services. Although located in Greenwood, receiving treatment from
her staff would greatly benefit those individuals in need.

Mark your calendars! Starting on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 - we will be offering Suboxone and Subutex treatment. We are now scheduling appointments for the 15th from 8 a.m. - 12 noon. We are not just prescribing Suboxone, we are providing a complete treatment program. Flexible payment options available. Give us a call @ 864-223-2243 to schedule your appointment on the 15th!

Men Supporting Men is a group held in Greenville and during September 2021 will be expanded to Piedmont. It is designed for men who are searching for ways to improve communication; improve relationships with family members, children, and friends; maintain a good work-life balance, and address issues of anger, stress, depression, and addiction.

At times those closest to us cannot relate to our struggles and we are left to figure things out on our own. We find it difficult to be vulnerable because of the stigma of seeking help from others. Vulnerability is what connects us to other human beings. Sadly, many men feel defeated by their own vulnerabilities, which can lead to a range of mental health problems, or even worse – su***de. Does vulnerability equal weakness? Does seeking help mean we are not self-reliant?

Seeking help is not a weakness and you do not need to figure out the challenges of life entirely on your own. Contact Solid Foundation Counseling Services for details about the ‘Men Supporting Men’ group.
