Dear Community Partner,

I am writing to share an exciting opportunity to make a lasting difference in our community while also receiving a direct benefit on your Alabama state taxes.

Beginning January 2026, Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama (RMCCA) will participate in the Alabama Rural Hospital Investment Program, a new initiative created by the Alabama Legislature to strengthen rural hospitals across the state. This program allows individuals, couples, and businesses to make contributions that directly support RMCCA and receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on their Alabama state taxes.

As you know, RMCCA provides more than medical care. We are neighbors caring for neighbors, providing care around the clock, creating jobs, supporting local businesses, and sponsoring the community traditions that bring us together. Your support through this program will help ensure that our hospital remains strong and ready to serve—today and for future generations.

Here are a few important details:
• Contributions may be made directly to RMCCA and must be reserved through the Alabama Department of Revenue’s My Alabama Taxes system before they are made, starting January 5, 2026.
• Once reserved, donors have 30 days to complete their contribution, which will then be verified by the hospital.
• Tax credit limits include up to $500,000 for corporations, 450,000 for pass-through entities, $30,000 for married couples filing jointly, and $15,000 annually for individuals.

I invite you to join us in this effort to keep care close to home. Your contribution through the Rural Hospital Investment Program will make an immediate impact on the future of healthcare in our community.

If you have questions or would like guidance on how to participate, please contact David Norrell at David.norrell@RMCCA.com or call 334.391.5576

Thank you for your continued support of Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama. Together, we can ensure a healthier, stronger future for our community.

Investing in Alabama's Rural Hospitals...Justin Pierce (left) and Todd Norman (right) on behalf of Community Neighbor Bank presented to Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama, a contribution of $23,500.00. Recognizing the vital role rural hospitals play in the health of our communities and our state, the Alabama Legislature recently approved this new initiative: ALABAMA'S RURAL HOSPITAL INVESTMENT PROGRAM. This program is designed to strengthen the financial stability of rural hospitals like ours by encouraging private donations from individuals and businesses--with the added benefit of a state tax credit. Patrick Trammell, CEO (center) graciously received the donation on behalf of the hospital staff, leadership team, Hospital Authority Board and our local community. Thank you again for your support.

Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama (RMCCA) and the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce have announced a joint effort to raise awareness of the new Alabama Rural Hospital Investment Program, a state initiative designed to strengthen and sustain rural healthcare systems through community investment.

The program, established under the “Rural Hospital Investment Act of 2025” (HB86), provides state income tax credits for donations made to eligible rural hospitals. The initiative aims to ensure the long-term viability of healthcare services in rural areas by encouraging individuals and businesses to contribute financially to their local hospitals.

Available for tax years 2026 through 2028, the program allows donors to make a meaningful impact on the future of healthcare in their communities — while also receiving a financial benefit.
