There’s actually no safe or effective way to truly adjust yourself—and trying to force those “self adjustments” at home are not only not fixing the problem, but could actually be doing more harm than good long term.

What you are feeling when you twist or pop things yourself isn’t the same as a specific, intentional chiropractic adjustment.

True adjustments are precise, neurologically focused, and designed for your body’s unique needs!!

(And yes, this applies to babies, kids, AND adults)

If you’ve tried more fiber, more water, prunes, Miralax, probiotics - and NOTHING works consistently - you’re treating the symptom, not the root cause.

Your digestive system doesn’t run on food alone. It’s controlled by your nervous system.

Brain → Spinal Cord → Nerves → Digestive Organs

These nerves tell your stomach when to produce acid, intestines when to contract (peristalsis), colon when to push, and sphincters when to open.

When there’s interference in the your lower spine due to stress or tension:
-Nerve signals to digestive organs get blocked
-Peristalsis (the wave that moves food through) doesn’t work properly
-Your colon literally can’t receive the signal to contract and push
-More fiber just sits there because the nervous system can’t move it

What creates interference:

IN BABIES: Birth trauma, tension in sacrum/lower spine, underdeveloped vagus nerve tone, nervous system stuck in stress mode

IN KIDS: Falls, poor posture (desks/iPads), physical tension the in mid/low back, stress response

IN ADULTS: Years of poor posture, chronic stress (sympathetic overdrive shuts down digestion), physical imbalances and dysfunction, “holding it” too often

Specific and intentional adjustments to the spine (especially mid-back and sacrum) to remove the interference blocking nerve signals to digestive organs, restore proper nerve flow so peristalsis works, support vagus nerve function (rest-and-digest nerve), and shift the nervous system out of stress mode into “safe to digest” mode.

In our office, we commonly see:
BABIES: Regular p**ps (sometimes immediately after adjustment!), less gas and straining

KIDS: Going daily without laxatives, less stomach pain & bloating

ADULTS: Regularity without fiber supplements or medications

Emotional dysregulation.

We’ve been taught these are “mental health issues” that need to be managed with medication, therapy, or just “trying harder.” But what if we told you that your mental health can be changed neurologically?

Your vagus nerve - the main highway between your brain and body - runs from your brainstem, past C1 (the first bone in your neck), down to your heart, lungs, and gut.

When C1 isn’t able to communicate properly due to stress and dysfunction, vagus nerve function is compromised. This can lead to:
1. Your brain can’t properly regulate mood
2. Your stress response stays activated
3. Inflammation increases in the brain
4. Anxiety and depression worsen

Research shows that chiropractic adjustments (especially upper cervical) increase vagal tone, reduce stress hormones, improve brain-body communication, and help regulate the autonomic nervous system.

A regulated nervous system leads to:
-A decrease in anxiety
-Mood stabilizes
-Mental clarity improves
-Emotional resilience increases

Your family just spent months indoors, fighting off winter viruses, dealing with less sunlight, and accumulating stress in their nervous systems.

Your immune system is depleted and now spring is here with its own challenges: pollen overload, temperature fluctuations, Daylight Saving exhaustion, lingering viruses, and increased outdoor activity (more exposure).

If you don’t reset now, spring becomes a season of constant allergies, infections, and struggling to keep up - instead of the fresh start it’s supposed to be. 🌸

3:00 AM. Again. 😴💭

Your head hits the pillow, but your brain decides it’s the perfect time to replay that conversation from three weeks ago, worry about tomorrow’s meeting, and create a mental to-do list that could fill a novel.

These two always have a trick up their sleeve whether it’s a custom bobble head for my birthday or surprise tshirts with my face plastered on them for Boss’s Day. 🤦🏽‍♀️😂😂
