✨ Resident Spotlight: Mrs. Geraldine Tharp ✨
At 89 years young, Mrs. Tharp is a true heart of Briarcliff.
She shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, who was also a resident here for two years. Through life’s joys and losses, Mrs. Tharp continues to show strength, grace, and kindness every single day.
A proud mother to two sons, loving mother-in-law, grandmother to three, and great-grandmother to seven, Mrs. Tharp says what she hopes her sons are most proud of is the way she raised them.
Over the years, she’s worn many hats. Working for Rains County, owning a flower shop, managing businesses, and always staying busy with purpose. When asked what makes Briarcliff feel like home, her answer was simple:
“Being around people. Visiting. Interacting.”
Her secret to 89? A good laugh, good genes, and gratitude (both of her parents lived into their 90s, and her grandfather lived to 102)!
What makes her smile each day? Hearing others laugh, the joy of her neighbors, and her new sweet furry friend, Suzette 🐾. She loves beauty shop Mondays, helping with florals, mending, activities, and spending time with her son, Tommy.
As Resident Council President, Mrs. Tharp believes in advocating for others and being a voice between residents and management. Her advice to all of us:
“Be kind. Always smile!! It’s the only thing you can give for free.”
We are so grateful to have Mrs. Tharp as part of our Briarcliff family. Her warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit make this place feel more like home every day.
