Our Members know how to de-stress in a low-impact way, and that is by heading straight to our pool! 🏊 The heated pool at Cascades Verdae is the perfect place to get a great workout that will help alleviate any unnecessary pressure. 😋 We have been seeing our Members engaging in solo exercising by swimming laps up and down the length of our pool. Swimming laps not only helps keep stress levels low, but it also helps with cardiovascular health! We love watching our Members take control of their wellness by staying active inside and outside of class! 💪 👏

While this might not be top of mind today, Members have the peace of mind that if they ever need care in the future, they'll never have to move again. In the spirit of Summer, we went to pick up one of our favorite sweet treats, peaches! 🍑 In South Carolina, you can drive down I-85 and see some of the best local peach farms, so we decided to get out and get some! Fisher's farm was the perfect place to find the sweetest peaches and some incredible local produce, too. 🍑 🥦 On the way back, you could hear the Members planning what they were going to make with their goodies. We think there are a few cobblers in our future! 😉

Hut Hut, HIKE! 🏈

We're kicking off this NFL season with a quick and easy tailgate recipe that'll be sure to make you cheer, no matter which team you're rooting for! Our Members are some of the most passionate fans, and our dining services teams know how to help them throw the best watch parties. This pork carnitas torta recipe is a fan favorite at Cascades Verdae, and we're here to share it with you to create at your next tailgate! So join our Members, grab a friend, huddle around the big screen, and enjoy this must-have snack for game day!

Here's how to make it at home! 👇
🌟 Carnitas:
- Cut 3–3.5 lbs pork shoulder into chunks, dry brine w/ 4 tsp kosher salt (1 hr)
- Melt 3 lbs lard in a medium heat pot, add pork. Cook 20 mins each side (250°F).
- Add: 1 onion, 5 garlic cloves, 1 tsp cumin, 2 tsp Mexican oregano, ½ tsp black pepper, 5 whole cloves, 2 bay leaves, juice + peel of 1 orange, ½ cup water.
- Simmer at 200–220°F for 1.5 hrs. Add 6 oz Mexican Coke, cook 20 mins.
- Remove & cool.

🥪 Torta:
- Toast 2 bolillo rolls.
- Spread refried beans on one side, mayo on the other.
- Fill with 1½ cups shredded carnitas, iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion & jalapeños.

Our ladies went back out on the town for another dining experience at a Greenville favorite!🤩 One5 is a staple for those who live in the Greenville area, and our Members are no different; they absolutely love the menu! Located on the same property as the Hotel Hartness, it offers a delicious menu with something for everyone. We started with the delightful focaccia, and it had everyone begging for seconds! 😋Cheers to a great time with great girls! 🥂

Our team transformed Cascades Verdae into an authentic casino experience from start to finish in our Wild West Casino Experience! 🤠 💰 Members dressed in their best Western attire as they entered the Saloon Happy Hour. Whether our Members were ordering a smoky old-fashioned or bourbon on the rocks, the vibes were high, and the music was bumpin'! 🍹 🥃 After a hoppin' happy hour, Members entered the dining room to find it turned into a Wild West Saloon. There were wanted signs for some of the most notorious staff, playing cards for raffled prizes, and traditional Western-inspired music! 🎶 🤠 Our dining services team treated everyone to a three-course plated dinner fit for only the finest of outlaws at Cascades Verdae! The menu included:

🦆Quail Satay and Cowboy Caviar
🥩Bison Filet with Charred Zucchini & Sweet Potato, and Corn Hash with caramelized onion and veal reduction
🥧 Bourbon Pecan Pie

This meal was meant to fuel our Members' gambling adventures in their Saloon Casino!🎰 The room was packed with all the classic casino games: 21, blackjack, craps, and roulette! Members could take their luck into action as they hit the tables! The evening ended with a serenade, allowing guests to practice their dance moves if they needed a break to refresh their luck. We know we are lucky to have had such an experience to share with our Members! 💃 🕺

While the fall decor we're seeing is making summer feel like it's long gone, our Members are still looking to keep their summer vibes going for a little bit longer. 😉 When our social director heard that, she knew exactly what she could plan to make it happen! She prepared a cocktail class that focused on summer drinks for our Members to sip on. Members learned the steps to make a Strawberry Rosé Spritz and a Grapefruit Paloma! 🍓 🍊Which would you have chosen? 😋
