Grief doesn’t disappear. It settles into the body.
Grief isn’t just emotional, it’s neurological and somatic. When the body doesn’t feel safe enough to process loss fully, it stores the experience in muscles, tissues, and the nervous system.
It can show up as chest heaviness, tight shoulders or jaw clenching, digestive discomfort, low back or hip tension, fatigue, weakened immunity, sleep disruption, and ongoing nervous system stress like anxiety or emotional numbness.

Grief isn’t something that can be erased or taken away. Practices like Reiki don’t remove grief, they help the body process it safely. By calming the nervous system and creating a sense of support, the body is able to soften its grip on what it has been holding.
