Being mindful reduces stress.
Mindfulness is taking time to smell the flowers on your kitchen table, fully listening to another person, acknowledging the taste of your meal. Being mindful trains the mind to focus on the present moment. It allows you to respond and not react, the moment between rational thought and fight or flight. It encourages kindness instead of criticism.
Begin with 30 minutes, then increase it until you are mindful for a full day. The practice will flow from there into your normal behavior.

Our Maine C**n cat, Leo, began his life with our family beginning at 3 weeks old. He loves cuddling, sleeping on your chest, following your every step and creating much laughter in his playfulness. Leo became a part of my Zoom Yoga classes, sitting in my lap for meditation or at my feet during standing poses, waiting for my hand to massage under his chin. His 20th birthday was Friday, Feb. 6 and he died that morning. Just from old age, a life well lived and a loving family member. We love you, Leo. You are already missed.
