*Scalenes*

Ever heard of scalenes!???

The scalene muscles run along the sides of your neck and help with breathing and neck movement. When tight, they can cause tension, pain, or even nerve issues down your arm.

To stretch: Sit tall, gently tilt your head to one side (ear to shoulder), and hold for 20–30 seconds—avoid shrugging your shoulders!

Researchers from Kyushu University and the University of Toronto have uncovered a strong link between neurogenesis—the formation of new neurons—and the brain’s ability to disrupt traumatic and addictive memories.

By encouraging new brain cell growth in the hippocampus, either through exercise or genetic manipulation, scientists found they could weaken or even erase fear-based and drug-related memories in mice.

In one experiment, mice exposed to electric shocks developed PTSD-like behavior. But those given access to physical activity displayed much lower levels of anxiety and fear, thanks to increased neurogenesis.

A similar pattern appeared in addiction studies: mice trained to associate a specific environment with co***ne no longer showed a preference for that location after new neurons were stimulated to grow.

Although genetic methods provided some benefit, regular physical activity proved to be more effective—highlighting the powerful role exercise can play in helping the brain recover from trauma and addiction.

Your spinal flexibility is so important! Doing these for at least 5 minutes can make you feel so much better one and the movement can help with so much more than flexibility!

It can help move some lymphatic fluid - which are your pathways that help move toxins and things your body doesn’t need out!- can help with your lower back pain, improve posture and overall feel better!

Anyone feeling like this lately?! I definitely am.

I am working on getting my life together and doing my best to give you all some amazing new content!! And hopefully some potentially bad videos 😬

I also have been working at WS, building a lifting and strength and conditioning program for the Girls athletic programs and middle school PE. If you’d be interested in some programs and weightlifting for in the gym let me know :) I also have a home workout program I am working on as well!

Keep your eyes out for some workouts that you can do at home and at the gym :)
