Our NWC Winter Olympics fun continues! 🏅✨

⛷️ Skiing – Athletes strap on their skis and glide down the course, racing to the finish while staying balanced and in control!

🛷 Luge – Riders zoom down the track on a small sled, lying down and steering with tiny movements as they race to the end!

Our hallways turned into Olympic courses, and our students had a blast competing and cheering each other on!

GCS on Normal Schedule Wednesday, February 4, 2026; No Buses on Icy Roads

Greenville County Schools will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4, 2026. This decision was made after the District’s Inclement Conditions Evaluation team reevaluated roads and trouble spots and bus drivers drove routes today. Both teams confirmed the number of roads impacted by ice have significantly improved. Buses will not run on specific icy roads that remain impassable, and for students whose routes are impacted, families will be notified directly by the Transportation Department. The decision to send a student to school ultimately rests with each family, and we encourage everyone to continue to use caution when traveling, particularly on bridges and shady roads. If you have any questions or concerns regarding safe travel, please reach out to your school.

Greenville County Schools is on eLearning Monday, February 2, and Tuesday, February 3. Schools and office buildings will be closed, and all activities, including athletic events and field trips, are canceled. This decision was made based on current snow and ice, forecasted freezing temperatures, which may result in continued unsafe road conditions, and the significant amount of work needed to clear campus entries and driveways once it’s safe for crews to do so. A decision about Wednesday will be made Tuesday afternoon. Because we are an approved eLearning district, the day will not have to be made up, so long as instruction is provided to students. Greenville County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Friday, January 30, 2026 due to unsafe early travel conditions:
-Bus routes will begin two hours later than normal and schools and offices will open to receive students two hours later than usual.
-Buses will not run on specific icy roads that are impassable, and for students whose routes are impacted, families have been notified directly by the Transportation Department.
-The school day will conclude at its regular time.
-The weather is being watched closely regarding Friday night activities. If adjustments are made, updates will be communicated.

All Greenville County Schools activities, including athletic events and field trips, are canceled on Saturday, January 31, and Sunday, February 1, 2026. This decision was made based on the forecasts and timing for snow, which may result in unsafe road conditions, downed power lines, and loss of electrical services.

We encourage parents and guardians to use caution when traveling, particularly on bridges and shady roads. Please refer to the Weather Delay FAQs and details by visiting the district’s website at https://tinyurl.com/mwftbuuv

Due to unsafe early travel conditions, Greenville County Schools will operate on a three-hour delay Thursday, January 29, 2026. Bus routes will begin three hours later than normal, and schools and offices will open to receive students three hours later than usual.

Buses will not run on specific icy roads that are impassable, and for students whose routes are impacted, families will be notified directly by the Transportation Department.

Morning half-day programs for three-year-olds are cancelled; afternoon programs for three-year-olds will operate but no district transportation will be provided. For career centers and the Fine Arts Center, morning classes are cancelled; normal transportation will be provided to and from the home-based high school for afternoon classes. Special needs transportation will only be provided for students who attend full day programming. No state or district buses will be available for field trips. Principals will make the final decision about trips involving charter transportation. The school day will conclude at its regular time.

While this is a shorter day, it allows students to check in with teachers and staff after eLearning and access school-provided resources after being out of the buildings for three days.

We encourage parents and guardians to use caution when traveling, particularly on bridges and shady roads. View announcement online at: https://tinyurl.com/2scx69w7

Greenville County Schools is extending eLearning through Tuesday, January 27. Schools and office buildings will be closed, and all activities, including athletic events and field trips, are canceled for Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27. This decision was made based on current conditions from freezing rain and ice and forecasts for unusually low temperatures, which may result in continued unsafe road conditions, downed power lines, and loss of electrical services. Because we are an approved eLearning district, this day will not have to be made up and instruction will be provided virtually. For Frequently Asked Questions visit: https://tinyurl.com/mwt62fbd
