What Can You Expect from Therapy? Therapy is designed to help people improve their level of functioning or return to their previous level of functioning. It is wise to seek therapy when you identify a problem and do not know how to resolve it, or you have exhausted your resources and the problem remains. The cornerstone of therapy is the confidential relationship between client and therapist. It is important to recognize that resolution of problems takes both time and effort.

Still Wind Ministries is excited to introduce Marcus Jones as our new Executive Director. Marcus has been connected to SWM for many years, more recently serving as a board member. Certified in SYMBIS, Prepare/Enrich, and pastoral coaching/counseling, Marcus integrates Christian wisdom with evidence-based practices. He leads cohorts in Emotionally Healthy Discipleship, Discipology, and serves his parish and community.

Marcus founded RE:FORGED Pastoral Counseling & Consulting in 2025. He lives in Upstate South Carolina with his wife of 12 years and their four daughters. You can usually find him spending time with his family, at church, playing music, reading, or gaming!

We are excited to have Marcus onboard as we seek to impact our community.

Box Breathing is a grounding and relaxation technique you can use anytime, anywhere.

How it works (4–4–4–4):
• Inhale for 4 seconds
• Hold for 4 seconds
• Exhale for 4 seconds
• Hold for 4 seconds

🔁 Repeat 3 times (or more if needed)

This steady rhythm helps calm the nervous system, slow racing thoughts, and bring your body back into a sense of safety and presence.

You are invited to a Lenten Contemplative Prayer Group & Book Study a gentle space to slow down, open your heart, and rest in God’s loving presence.

📅 February 16 – April 2
💻 All sessions on Zoom
🕊️ Day & time will be customized to participants’ availability

Together, we’ll explore themes of embodied love, compassion, and companionship in our spiritual lives, drawing from The Love of Thousands by Christine Valters Painter. This book will serve as a gentle guide as we nurture the garden of our hearts and grow in spiritual and emotional maturity.

• Contemplative practices
• Prayer and reflection
• Spiritually integrated teaching

✨ 2025 Year in Review | Still Wind Ministries ✨

As we pause to reflect on this year, our hearts are full of gratitude. Through God’s provision and the generosity of our supporters, Still Wind Ministries committed over $34,000 in grants to help individuals and families find hope, healing, and stability in the midst of life’s storms.

These grants provided access to counseling, care, and support for those facing anxiety, grief, trauma, relational challenges, and overwhelming life transitions. Each dollar represents more than funding; it represents peace restored, burdens lifted, and lives moving toward wholeness.

We are deeply thankful for every donor, mission partner, and network provider who helped make this possible. Because of you, families were not left to navigate hard seasons alone.

As we look ahead, requests for support are growing and so is our commitment to meet them.

We're excited to have Rebecca join us as a Network Partner. Rebecca supports others through meditation, labyrinth facilitation, contemplative, and nature-based nurturing practices to quiet the mind and heart and open oneself to experiencing God’s loving presence. The Board is proud to present to you our next Executive Director, LaShawn Leitzsey. LaShawn will be working part-time for Still Wind to strengthen and develop the strategic plan and programs. As you know by now, nonprofit work is community work. Her legacy with Still Wind will be influenced by the degree of our support. Join us in welcoming her to SWM!
