I don’t ask you to do anything I typically haven’t done myself. Counting macros is not fun or easy for me but it can provide a wealth of info and really be a great tool to understand your nutrition goals. I typically recommend doing it for at least a week just to gain the information. However, if it is anxiety producing or you have a history of disordered eating, it may not be for you.
