Susannah Baldwin, LPC, PMH-C

Susannah Baldwin, LPC, PMH-C Founder, Director and Counselor at Reproductive Journey Counseling and Support. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and a M.Ed.

Some of my most rewarding work has been with women and couples during their reproductive journey. While often expected to be wondrous, this time can also present significant challenges. I have a strong background with issues related to sexuality, infertility, pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, post-partum depression and post-partum anxiety. I use a versatile counseling approach combining cognitive-behavioral, client centered and solution focused techniques to meet the needs of the individuals and couples I serve. I provide a customized plan of services tailor-made for each unique client situation. I feel strongly that a positive therapeutic relationship influences counseling outcomes. So in an effort to allow clients the opportunity to meet me and decide if counseling is right for them, I offer a free consult. I also enjoy advocating for maternal mental health awareness by volunteering with organizations such as Upstate Birth Network & Postpartum Support International. I have advanced training in Maternal Mental Health as well as training for the Bringing Baby Home program. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Clemson University.

📚 As a counselor (and a book lover), I’m always drawn to stories that speak to the tender parts of the human journey. Right now, I’ve got multiple books going at once—because honestly, who says you have to read front to back to get the good stuff? 😉
One that is one top of the pile of the nightstand lately is Care of the Soul , and it beautifully captures the idea hardships don't have to be cured, they can be accepted as necessary and even offer opportunities for self-discovery. It’s a reminder that healing often comes from the smallest insights, even if you’re just flipping to the page you need that day- like the day I just opened it to the chapter titled, The Body's Poetics of Illness, and found contemplation in even the idea of the title of the chapter.
✨ What about you—are you a “one book at a time” person, or do you have a whole stack like me?

Try on this meaning of Resolution- not a 'digging in' energy but more of a 'letting go' or resolving energy. May you find many freedoms from tangles this year. 🙏

The River Cannot Go Back by Kahlil Gibran

It is said that before entering the sea
a river trembles with fear.
She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.
And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.
But there is no other way.
The river can not go back.
Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.
The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,
because that’s where the river will know
it’s not about disappearing into the ocean,
but of becoming the ocean
