As the anniversary of Hurricane Helene approaches, many in our community may find themselves feeling unsettled or experiencing renewed mental health symptoms. These emotional responses are not uncommon as tragic memories resurface. Canterbury Counseling wants to remind those impacted that support is still available—thanks to ongoing funding, we continue to offer counseling services for individuals affected by the storm. You are not alone, and help is here.

We just finished up a six week group with our GAP community partner on traumatic grief. While it is a tough topic we were so encouraged by the ladies and their honesty, insight, and love for one another. We ended the group by talking about the Japanese art of Kintsugi and experiencing the process of taking broken pieces of pottery and putting them back together with gold in order to be stronger and more beautiful than before. This exercise is the epitome of healing and our hopes for all the clients we serve as they move towards healing and acceptance.
