Introducing our new student: Julie has been volunteering here since Fall of 2024 and is starting her field experience this Fall! If you know anyone looking for an introduction to equine-assisted therapy or art therapy, Julie will be offering both. We also have a new group for women she is co-facilitating on Mondays starting next week with flyer below!
Here is her bio:
Julie is a graduate student enrolled in ECU’s MS in the Clinical Counseling Program. She is passionate about raising awareness for teenagers and young adults as she finds that this population is underrepresented, as well as providing mental health services to various communities including LGBTQIA+. She strives to blend together dance, movement, equine-assisted therapy, animal-assisted therapy, and art therapy to support teenagers and young adults through navigating transitions in life, stress, trauma, and various mental health concerns. During the time she is not in class or working, Julie participates in local theatre, exploring new coffee shops, reading, writing, and finding fun hikes to go on with her dad.
