Meet Tiffany Crumpler, Riley’s Army Board of Directors, Gala Committee, Finance Committee & Teen Board Advisor.

Tiffany is a Special Education High School Teacher, Mother of three children and a
Mary Kay Independent Consultant who enjoys cooking out on the weekends with the family and spending time with her church family at Open Table.

Why Riley’s Army?

This year, Tiffany decided to join the Riley’s Army Board of Directors because it is a passion of hers to help others who are facing obstacles in their lives and may need some extra love and support. Helping families affected by pediatric cancer allows her to give back to an important part of our community: our kids. Tiffany also hopes to help parents, families, and friends by bringing recognition to their cause and providing problem-solving solutions that may ease their hardship during an already stressful time.

As a mother and special education teacher, Tiffany has dedicated her life to the well-being of children who need a little extra love and support.

Meet Paul Armstrong, Secretary of Riley’s Army/Board of Directors Executive Committee.

Michael “Paul” Armstrong, is the proud owner of Beyond Limits Marketing, a role that has allowed Paul to blend his professional ambitions with his deep commitment to making a meaningful difference in the community. Together, Paul and his wife are blessed with three wonderful children, who are the heart of their world and the driving force behind their efforts to advocate for a brighter future for all children.

Why Riley’s Army?

Paul’s passion for supporting the pediatric cancer community has been greatly inspired by his wife, Melissa, who has dedicated 18 years to pediatrics. Witnessing her compassion and dedication firsthand has not only deepened his admiration for her but also fueled his desire to contribute to this cause. His involvement with Riley’s Army, an organization dedicated to supporting families affected by pediatric cancer, reflects his belief in the power of community and the impact of collective compassion.

Meet Dr. Andrea Whitfield, Treasurer of Riley’s Army & Finance Committee.

Dr. Whitfield is honored to be one of the pediatric hematology/oncology attendings at ECU. Dr. Whitfield stays very busy while taking care of special patients and keeping track of her five children. Dr. Whitfield and her husband enjoy spending time with the kids and going to the beach. Her kids (and her patients) inspire Dr. Whitfield to be her best self. Dr. Whitfield’s motto is: “Never give up!”

Why Riley’s Army?

Dr. Whitfield wanted to be more intimately involved with an organization that helps oncology families immensely. Riley’s Army helps lift some of the burden from families so they can focus more on their child.

Meet Nichole, Vice President of Riley’s Army/Board of Directors Executive Committee & Hearts of Gold Gala 2025 Birthday Wish Award Recipient

Nichole is dedicated to supporting children with cancer and their families across Eastern North Carolina, ensuring no one faces childhood cancer alone.

Along with her leadership at Riley’s Army, she serves as the Practice Administrator at Orthopaedics East & Sports Medicine Center and as a Teaching Instructor at ECU’s College of Business. Her background in healthcare, leadership, and human resources strengthens her commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of the families we serve.

Why Riley’s Army?

Nichole became involved with Riley’s Army to make a meaningful difference for families facing unimaginable challenges. By combining her healthcare background with her passion for service, she provides strong leadership and compassionate support so families receive the care and resources they need during their hardest moments.
