UPDATE: Still available - Desk $75. All other items are now "under contract" and have waiting lists for next-in-line buyers. If there is anything left after it all shakes out, I'll list items again. Thanks so much.

I am closing my in-person office to work remote and have some used office furniture for sale. Most are from Pottery Barn and in good to very good condition. All furniture has been well cleaned. SP Bookcase/storage unit $100. Desk $75. Adjustable Desk Chair $50. Chair mat for carpet $10. SP Arm chair $75. SP chair $75. Furniture-style, legal-width, 2-drawer file cabinet with supply of hanging files (no lock) $50. 2 beige, metal, letter-width, deep, 2-drawer file cabinets. $25 each.
Direct message me to inquire, purchase, and arrange for pickup. All furniture is upstairs on 2nd floor in inaccessible office building downtown. We might can get furniture to first floor with plenty of notice, or you can arrange pickup from 2nd floor most any time.

This photo is from my morning walk on the last work day of an unsustainable schedule and lifestyle that served me well for a time. Next week I start a reduced schedule, and the week after, I go virtual only and spend the rest of the month gradually closing my in-person office and moving home. Looking forward to the savings in time, energy, resources, and well-being, as well as the increased opportunity for other parts of life and connection. Practicing what I teach.
I am not accepting new clients at this time but keep a waitlist and will re-evaluate my ability to take new clients each quarter.
Thank you to the amazing providers at Bay Laurel Center for Psychotherapy for their continued association and support.

I meant to make a cute little graphic reminding you people about this…but I forgot and it’s coming up soon so here’s this! 🧡

For the webinar: I’ll share insights from both my personal journey as an autistic adult and my professional experience supporting autistic individuals and their families. We’ll explore practical, compassionate ways parents can support their child’s unique needs. Topics will include building more effective communication, helping kids navigate change, managing meltdowns, introducing new activities, and understanding just how powerful parent involvement can be in shaping long-term success.

There are a few slots left in each of my WinterPath classes starting Thursday. Please share with anyone you think may be attracted to this class or might benefit. These are basically the same class with the morning class leaning a bit more somatic. I do have some folks who fit better with the morning but are coming in the afternoon and vice-versa per their scheduling needs. This is not a processing group but a class for instruction and practice. Make registration requests to jill@baylaureltherapy.com. Thank you!

Just thinking of everyone this week as we enter the darkest week of the year. I hope you will take care of yourselves with the greatest of care and kindness these next 6 weeks. Sharing the list of good medicine. Pick something new to try this year.
Meditate more (guided if you aren’t practiced).
Practice gratitude daily.
Practice curiosity (like an enthusiastic young child), looking actively for what each day might hold.
Hydrate and nourish as best you can.
Journal amd think about intentions for making the best you and the best 2025 possible.
Just be. Rest and relax more without self judgement.
Take walks, short or long.
Bundle up and be outdoors even for micro-moments, noticing more closely how other growing things are doing winter year.
Find a place to walk briskly indoors or do any type of daily movement.
Dance more when no one is watching…or when they are, if that’s your thing.
Sing more in the car.
Bundle up and volunteer at least once in Western North Carolina…or somewhere…anywhere.
Find ways to connect to others, even if it’s just being around strangers at the coffee shop or the library.
Connect with those who are much more homebound.
Limit screen time.
Add in some vitamin D if needed.
Practice kindness. Include your self in that.
Hibernation is also fine.

Reach out for help with trusted others or professionals if you find yourself too low to do anything or hibernating is causing distress. Call 988 just to talk to someone to get you through. You do not have to be suicidal to use their service.

And here’s a little poem from Mary Oliver to help us enjoy the dark:
