🌟 May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Let’s turn awareness into action. 🌟

This month (and every month), we can all play a part in educating, sparking conversations, and breaking down stigma around mental health. Here’s how:

💬 Start Small, Start Now
Share a mental health resource (like a hotline, article, or podcast) with someone who might need it. Even a simple, “I found this helpful—thought you might too” can make a difference.

📢 Use Your Voice
Post a quote, fact, or personal story (if comfortable) about mental health. Use hashtags like Alone to reach more people.

🗣️ Ask, Listen, Repeat
Check in with a friend, family member, or colleague: “How are you really doing?” Then listen without judgment. Sometimes, that’s all someone needs to feel seen.

📖 Educate Yourself & Others
Spend 10 minutes learning about mental health—whether it’s a TED Talk, a book chapter, or a trusted organization’s website. Share one thing you learned with your network.

🎨 Get Creative
Design a simple graphic, write a short poem, or record a 60-second video about why mental health matters to you. Creativity makes messages stick!

🤝 Support Others
Share local or online support groups, therapy resources, or mental health apps. If you’re comfortable, offer to go with someone to their first appointment.

🚫 Challenge Stigma
When you hear a harmful stereotype or joke about mental health, speak up. A simple, “Actually, mental health is complex and deserves compassion” can shift the conversation.

Remember: You don’t need to be an expert to make an impact. Small actions + consistency = big change.

What’s one way you’ll spread awareness this month? Drop it in the comments! 👇

🥫☀️ STOCK THE SHELVES FOR SUMMER ☀️🥫

School may be ending, but hunger doesn’t take a summer break.

Our Weekend Backpack Program is collecting non-perishable food donations to help provide summer food bags for local students and families in need. With school out, many children lose access to regular school meals — and together, we can help fill that gap.

Every donation helps stock the shelves and ensures children have food throughout the summer months. 💙

Donations can be dropped off at Greenville Elementary School at Door 3.

Thank you for helping us care for our students all summer long!

Tips to manage anxiety during storms

With severe storms expected today, we want to acknowledge that storm anxiety is very real for many people. When weather alerts start coming through, it can bring up fear, panic, or a sense of losing control—and those feelings are valid.

We encourage anyone experiencing storm-related anxiety to focus on simple, realistic coping strategies that can help ground them during the day:

🌩️ Have a basic plan in place.
Knowing where to go for safety, keeping phones charged, and having essentials nearby can help reduce feelings of helplessness.

🌧️ Limit constant weather checking.
While it’s important to stay informed, repeatedly checking radar or social media updates can increase anxiety. Checking trusted sources periodically is often more helpful than constant monitoring.

🧠 Stay present-focused.
Reminding yourself, “Right now, I am safe,” can help interrupt spiraling thoughts about worst-case scenarios.

🎧 Engage in calming distractions.
Listening to music, watching something familiar, or focusing on a simple task can help redirect attention away from anxious thoughts.

💬 Stay connected.
Talking with someone you trust or simply being around others can help ease feelings of isolation during stressful weather events.

It is okay to feel anxious during storms, and support is available. Taking things one moment at a time can make a meaningful difference.

Wednesday wellness group was all about social wellness 🎳

We hit the bowling alley and bowled three full games—and had an absolute blast doing it. More than just fun, the day was about showing that recovery doesn’t mean missing out… it means learning how to enjoy life in a healthy, meaningful way.

Moments like these matter. We’re building:
• Healthy relationships
• Positive memories
• Real connection without substances

It’s powerful to watch people laugh, compete, encourage each other, and just be present. This is what “good old sober fun” looks like—and it’s something worth fighting for.

Proud of everyone who showed up today. 💪
