Jaimie Yahnker – a dedicated team member of ECU Health Medical Center, celebrated his retirement on January 14th, 2026. He worked for over 40 years at this organization and has held various roles in Hospitality/ Department of Experience, the Education Department, Human Resources, in the Insurance Department under Financial Services and as a support associate in The Rehabilitation Center in Greenville, NC. He attributes many of his career opportunities as “Divine Intervention”, but he demonstrated an outstanding work ethic wherever he worked. He has been recognized as a role model for patients and their families, inspiring them to achieve success in their own lives.

He graduated with a degree in Human Services and has supported many individuals with disabilities throughout his career. He has been a resource and an advocate for individuals with disabilities both at ECU Health and in the Pitt County greater community. He served on The City of Greenville Parks and Recreation Commission Board and The Pitt Area Transit System (PATS) Advisory Board. He served as the president for the Support Team for Active Recreation (STAR) for 20 years – creating opportunities for adapted recreation for individuals with a variety of different diagnoses who were interested in participating in recreational activities in a different way.

We are grateful to Jaimie for all that he has done for our organization and the community for the last four decades of his life. He has been an inspiration to us all.

This morning in Dr. Rothermich's and Mrs. Phillips' Linguistic/ Cognitive Disorders in Brain Injured Adults course, an interprofessional panel of professionals came to share their experience working with patients following brain injury or stroke. They shared their experiences working with this patient population and on an interprofessional team. Thank you to Dr. Chia-Cheng Lin (PT), Gracie Warden (SLP and recent ECU graduate), Krista Austin (OT), Dr. Selena Scot (neuropsychologist) for joining us this morning, and Kathryn Tumlin for moderating the panel.

The ECUH MC Rehabilitation and Clinical Nutrition leadership teams recently gathered for their annual Christmas social, fostering camaraderie and team spirit. The event featured a selection of gourmet dishes and lively games of Dirty Santa and 'Name That Christmas Movie,' ensuring an evening filled with fun moments, laughter, and stronger connections among colleagues and there families.

Debbie Harrison is a Physical Therapy Assistant who has worked with patients at ECUHMC on Inpatient and Outpatient Teams for 26 years.

We are so thankful for all that she has given of herself to improve the lives of others in Rehabilitation Services.

We wish her much joy in this next chapter of her life. Happy Retirement Debbie!

Our very own Felicia Collins, executive director for system, rehabilitation and clinical dietitian services was honored to be one of nine community leaders celebrated at the Leadership of Excellence Gala on Friday, October 24th, held at the Greenville Convention Center. At the gala Dr. Collins credits, God, her family, and ECU Health for shaping who she is as a leader.
