Some of us don’t just notice rejection...we feel it in our whole body.
If you have ADHD or rejection sensitivity, your brain may be wired to scan for signs of disapproval, exclusion, or criticism — fast and intensely.
That’s not weakness.
That’s a nervous system trying to protect you.❤️‍🩹
And here’s something trauma-informed therapy teaches us:
👉 Most people are carrying struggles you can’t see.
👉 Misattunements happen.
👉 Not every shift in tone, delayed text, or facial expression means rejection.
You are not “too much.”
You are a human with a sensitive, perceptive nervous system.
And just like you have invisible battles
So does the person across from you.
Self-compassion and perspective-taking can exist together.

Grateful and honored to have attended training with Dr. Ramani Durvasula.
Chronic relational trauma and narcissistic abuse don’t just affect thoughts — they live in the body and nervous system. Healing often means learning how to come out of survival states and back into safety, connection, and self-trust.

My work is grounded in helping clients rebuild nervous system flexibility, strengthen the ventral vagal “safety” pathways, and reconnect with their authentic selves.Continuing education allows me to better support my clients in rebuilding internal safety and regulation.

Are you feeling anger or rage from an injustice and harm done from abuse, neglect, betrayal, exploitation or manipulation then I urge you to please read this...it could mean you are healing. However "unprocessed, explosive and swallowed anger is the opposite of healing".Yes you read that right. Agree or disagree and why or why not

DBTSkills. Emotion Regulation. Skill : Managing Anger.
An important reframe of anger.
So many people are taught to see anger as regression, dysregulation, or something that needs to be eradicated.

But often it’s actually a sign that awareness has finally caught up to what the body already knew.

Anger shows up when survival shifts into truth.
When the nervous system realizes: that wasn’t okay, I deserved more, I had to adapt to something that wasn’t safe.

That doesn’t make anger dangerous. It makes it clarifying.

The line about choices being coping mechanisms in disguise.

This could be one of the most painful and liberating recognitions in healing. It’s not about blame, it’s about reclaiming authorship of your life.

Anger isn’t the opposite of healing.
Unprocessed anger is. Swallowed anger is, explosive anger is.

Felt, held, managed and integrated anger becomes boundaries, dignity, and self-respect.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose work reminds us that dignity, justice, and compassion begin with how we treat one another—and ourselves.
If you’re feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or worn down today, you’re not alone—and nothing is wrong with you. Some days, just being here takes a great deal of strength.
Caring for yourself does not have to look like doing more.
Rest is allowed.
Going slowly is enough.
A very gentle grounding option (only if it feels okay):
You might try placing one hand on a solid surface or on your body and noticing its support.
If it feels helpful, take one slow breath—no need to change it.
Quietly name one thing you can see or one sound you can hear. That’s enough.
There is no right way to spend today. Whether you’re reflecting, resting, seeking connection, or simply making it through the hours—your effort matters.
✨ If you’re able, consider one small act of kindness toward yourself today. Even very small counts.

❤️ January is National Blood Donor Month — Give the Gift of Life ❤️

January is National Blood Donor Month, a dedicated time each year to recognize the lifesaving contributions of volunteer blood donors and to raise awareness about an ongoing critical need in our healthcare system. This observance began in 1970 when President Richard Nixon proclaimed January as National Blood Donor Month to honor donors and encourage more people to give during a time when donations often decline due to holiday travel, winter weather, and seasonal illnesses.

Why blood donation matters

🩸 Every 2 seconds, someone in the United States needs a blood transfusion — from accident victims and surgical patients to people battling cancer or chronic diseases.
🩸 Over 42,000 units of blood, platelets, and plasma are used by patients every day in the U.S.
🩸 Nearly 16 million blood components are transfused annually across the country.

Current donation realities
🩸 Approximately 65% of Americans are eligible to donate, yet only about 3% actually do.
🩸 Close to 7 million people in the United States donate blood each year — a remarkable group of individuals making an extraordinary impact.
🩸 Daily needs in the U.S. typically include 29,000 units of red blood cells, 5,000 units of platelets, and 6,500 units of plasma.

❄️ Urgent need in January ❄️

Winter months often bring canceled blood drives and reduced donor turnout due to weather, holidays, and illness — even as demand remains steady. That makes January a critical period for boosting blood collections to ensure hospitals and clinics have the supplies they need.

How you can help
📍 Make an appointment with your local blood center or the American Red Cross.
📍 Encourage friends, family, and colleagues to donate.
📍 Share your donation experience on social media to raise awareness.

A single blood donation can save multiple lives. This National Blood Donor Month, consider giving what only you can give — your blood — and help ensure that lifesaving transfusions are available when patients need them most.

To donate locally, check out The Red Cross or Versiti.
