Physicians East proudly welcomes Shae Huston, DO. Dr. Huston completed her family medicine residency at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Indianapolis, IN, where she graduated in the top 20% of her class. Her academic background also includes a Master of Arts in Physiology and a Bachelor of Science in Premedical Preparation and Biology, both summa cm laude, from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
Dr. Huston’s clinical interests include comprehensive primary care across the lifespan, with a focus on preventive medicine, women’s health, and chronic disease management. She is committed to building long-term relationships with her patients, emphasizing accessible, compassionate care and helping families maintain their health at every stage of life. She also holds advanced certifications in life support, obstetrics, and neonatal resuscitation, equipping her to provide evidence-based care in a variety of clinical settings.
Service and mentorship have been central to Dr. Huston’s journey in medicine. She has served as a student ambassador and peer mentor, guiding medical students through their training, and has volunteered at Camp John Warvel to provide medical support for children with diabetes. She has also participated in international outreach with Timmy Global Health, working on medical brigades in rural Ecuador to expand access to primary care for underserved communities.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Huston enjoys spending time with her husband, David, who is in his 4th year of residency, and their children, Henry and Maggie. She also loves reading, baking, and traveling.
