Yesterday, Hunt Regional Medical Center received 115 new patient-bed mattresses donated by the Hunt Regional Foundation. This tremendous gift provides a much-needed upgrade to our hospital beds and furnishes patients with better comfort and outcomes. In addition, these Stryker mattresses include cooling and drying technology, and those on most floors include TruTurn turn assist, which helps clinical staff adjust the patient in the bed for procedures or relieving pressure. We are so thankful to the foundation members and the community for making this purchase a reality!

Hand Hygiene is the 1st line of defense against infection and disease. Hand hygiene is not just a matter of cleanliness but a critical practice to safeguard your and your family's health. Look to wash your hands in moments such as;

- preparing food
- before and after eating
- if you are caring for someone who is sick
- treating a cut or wound
- after visiting the restroom
- if you are changing diapers
- after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
- if you touch a pet, pet food, or pet waste
- taking out the garbage

Washing your hands often and properly helps keep everyone safe and healthy.

When appropriate, 9-1-1 dispatches emergency medical services to arrive quickly at a patient's location and begin medical treatment onsite. EMTs and paramedics are trained to provide life-saving care, and ambulances are equipped with equipment/medication to dispense first response measures for traumatic injuries and medical emergencies. The emergency department is notified of essential information for a plan of care upon the patient's arrival.
