RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) is a common virus that infects the lungs and breathing passages and can be especially serious for babies and young children. While it often starts like a simple cold, it can sometimes lead to bronchiolitis or pneumonia in little ones.

RSV spreads easily through coughs, sneezes, close contact, or touching contaminated surfaces. In infants and young children, symptoms typically begin with a runny nose and cough and may progress to wheezing, rapid breathing, or difficulty breathing.

Being aware of and recognizing the signs and symptoms in your infant or child is important. If you or your child is experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room.
