Tribute to Dr. Eunice W. Ponder
Former First Lady of Benedict College (1973–1984)

Benedict College honors the life and legacy of Dr. Eunice W. Ponder, who, alongside her beloved husband, Dr. Henry Ponder, devoted more than six decades to higher education. As First Lady of Benedict College from 1973 to 1984, Dr. Ponder served with grace, vision, and quiet strength.

She cultivated meaningful relationships within the Columbia community, shared her expertise as a professor of Business Management and Development Administrator, and exemplified scholarship, elegance, and generosity.

Her lasting impact continues to inspire the Benedict College family and all who were touched by her life of service and distinction.
