Our Story

Rainpower my gelding, and a life long love of horses is the reason for me starting Balanced Strides. Rain kicked through a wood fence at the age of 7, and required surgery to remove a quarter size bone chip from his hind fetlock. During surgery the Vets realized the damage was more severe than they first thought. His chances of ever being more than a pasture ornament went from 70% to 40%! Rain is a member of my family, and will always be, pasture ornament or not, so I had to find a way to help him heal. Thankfully the Vets did an amazing job, but he just wasn’t doing as well as he could have been. After having a Massage therapist work on Rain, I could immediately see the relief she provided him, so I started this journey/education in order to make his life better. Previously having been a Vet Tech, it wasn’t a big leap to Equine Massage and something I had researched years ago but never followed through on. Thankfully after all the hard work getting my certifications, I am able to help Rain and looking forward to helping horses who have discomfort or pain live a long enjoyable life.
