In 2004, a group of highly established clinical research professionals and one of South Carolina’s most active pulmonary practice joined together to form a high quality, community based, dedicated research center. Our goal was to create a trial site combining the clinical expertise of the pulmonologists with years of experience in clinical research to provide safe, rapid, and accurate data to sponsoring drug companies. Within our first 12 months we grew to three sites, each founded on the same principals. The network has grown dramatically year after year since the beginning and continues to develop a scalable model for accurate research as a service to volunteers in our communities.
VitaLink is a leading clinical research trial network with 15 wholly-owned and dedicated research sites, each operating under one brand with unified processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
How does that set us apart? Simply put, many physicians engage in clinical research as an adjunct to their medical practices. It’s common to see physicians fail their first trial and not continue in the industry. VitaLink offers our sponsors continuity and deliver the highest quality data rapidly because we allow our trial sites to focus on research and research alone. We’re proud to call ourselves “wholly owned” because it allows us to standardize and maintain best practices and procedures across our network to protect research volunteers and guarantee accurate results.
Our goal today remains consistent with our original aspiration: align leading physicians across different specialties with highly efficient dedicated research professionals into one network to deliver trials as their main priority and comprehensive integration of quality results from trial to trial. Our initial research sites outstanding platform remains the benchmark for success, which has been finely tuned and tested (FDA and PMDA) over the past decade.
