This week, we join our community in honoring the men and women of law enforcement who protect and serve all of Darke County.
We especially want to take a moment to remember those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Thank you to all our local officers for the dedication and sacrifice it takes to keep our families safe! 🙌💙
In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. Please take a moment to honor those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
We encourage everyone to attend this year's Back the Blue Memorial Ceremony at the Darke County Fairgrounds on May 16th at 6 p.m.
