Love isn’t loud.
It’s resilience.
It’s self-compassion.
It’s showing up, again and again.
It's holding space for ourselves, for each other, and for whatever each day brings.

1 in 10 dads experience depression or anxiety during the perinatal period, with symptoms often peaking 3–6 months after birth, a time when support can fade and expectations rise.

Dads don’t always show sadness; many men experience emotional struggles through irritability or anger, withdrawal, increased risk-taking, alcohol use, or overworking.

Risk increases with lack of emotional support, relationship stress, sleep deprivation, financial pressure, and especially when a partner is experiencing postpartum depression or anxiety.

At Reproductive Journey, we recognize that dads are often expected to be “the strong one,” which can make it harder to ask for help or even recognize what’s happening. Support matters, and dads deserve it too.

Untreated paternal mental health challenges can affect bonding with the baby, partner relationships, and long-term child development.

We’re here to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where fathers can talk, process, and receive support through this major life transition. You’re not weak for struggling. You’re not alone. Help is available for dads, too.

Today we recognize Parent Mental Health Day, a reminder that parents deserve care, understanding, and support.

Parenting can be deeply meaningful, but it can also be demanding, exhausting, and overwhelming. Many parents carry stress quietly, feeling pressure to cope, to know the answers, and to keep going, even when it’s hard. It’s easy to forget that this journey is new, complex, and constantly evolving.

Burnout can happen when love and responsibility leave little room for rest or self-care. Taking a moment to pause, reflect, and acknowledge your own efforts matters more than you may realize.

At Reproductive Journey, we’re here to support parents through every stage, because you don’t have to navigate this path alone.

This Parent Mental Health Day and beyond, may it be a reminder to extend kindness to yourself. Give yourself grace. Honor how far you’ve come. Supporting your own wellbeing is not a weakness, it’s an essential part of the journey.

Many of you may have already come across this heartbreaking news, and for many it may have landed with an unexpected wave of sadness, fear, or vulnerability in addition to feelings of grief—especially for those who are pregnant, postpartum, or holding tender hopes around birth.
We take pause to remember and honor Dr. Janell Green Smith—a certified nurse midwife, maternal health advocate, and devoted protector of mothers and babies.
Dr. Janell dedicated her life’s work to caring for birthing people and supporting compassionate maternal care. She showed up for her community with deep intention, courage, and love. Due to complications from the birth of her first child, Dr. Janell passed away—an unimaginable loss. She leaves behind her loving husband and her newborn baby.
Loss like this ripples outward. It can show up as heightened anxiety, unexpected tears, or a feeling of being less steady than usual. If this news feels especially tender for you, your response makes sense.
We hold Dr. Janell’s family & community close in our hearts and honor the legacy she leaves through the lives she touched. 💛

The holiday season may bring uncertainty, moments of stillness, and waves of grief.
Whatever comes, we hope you give yourself permission to feel, pause, ask for space, be held, and honor your grief.
There is no “right” way to grieve.
We're thinking of you and wishing you small pockets of peace. 🤍
