I am sharing a special post from Greenville County Councilman Benton Blount. He wa sone of the judges for the pageant we had last week. This is so touching!! Please read ! This was written in the email Benton Blount sends every week to his constituents:
Honored to Judge the Ms. Cherrydale Pageant
This week I had the special honor of serving as a judge for the very first Ms. Cherrydale Pageant at Cherrydale Post Acute. It was a heartwarming event that brought together residents, families, and staff in a celebration of joy, resilience, and community. The swimsuit portion (pictured below) was my favorite, and these ladies did not hold back!!!
The residents looked radiant as they shared not just their beauty, but their life stories and the wisdom that comes with them. The room was filled with laughter, tears, and applause, a true reflection of the love and pride that surround these women.
Congratulations to each participant, and especially to our new Ms. Cherrydale, Nancy Drennen, whose grace and warmth inspired everyone present.
Gratitude for the Staff
While I was privileged to help judge, the real credit belongs to the incredible staff at Cherrydale. Their tireless dedication, compassion, and creativity made this event possible. The activities team and caregivers worked with such care to ensure that every resident felt celebrated and honored. Their work is a reminder that healthcare is not only about treatment, but also about dignity, community, and joy.
A special thank you to Activity Director Susan E. Gregar for inviting me to judge such a great event.
