Over my 10+ years of teaching in various gyms, studios, and corporate offices I saw one thing in common…

Classes labeled “beginner-friendly” were not actually good for beginners.

They might be slower but there wasn’t a dedicated class to truly teaching and explaining the movements.

Beginner students don’t just need a slowed down class, they need to be taught. They don’t need an “instructor” demo-ing and basically getting the students to copy them, they need a teacher to explain how to move into the poses.

Thats why I created the beginner series. To truly break down movements, explain lingo, and move at a pace where you don’t feel rushed.

Yesterday during an onboarding, a new beginner told me she was frustrated because she’s “never really seen results from yoga.”

So I asked a follow-up question:

“How long do you usually stick with it before stopping?”

Her answer:
“A couple of months (going 1x/week)… then I stop… then I try again later.”

Here’s the thing most people don’t want to hear ⬇️

Movement doesn’t work when we treat it like a short-term experiment.

It’s easy to forget that the decades spent being inactive or working a desk job has contributed to the current situation.

Tight hips, stiff spine, limited mobility didn’t happen overnight — and they don’t unwind in a few weeks either.

And then I asked her one more question:

“Even if yoga did change things for you… would you stop doing it?”

Her answer was immediate:
“No. I’d know I’d need to maintain it.”

💥 Exactly.

So whether you’re noticing changes yet or not…
you’re still going to need to keep moving your body.

The real goal isn’t fast results.
It’s finding movement you can actually sustain for life.

That’s where yoga really works.
