The American Academy of Cardiovascular Sleep Medicine (AACSM)
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
The Academy was founded to assist providers and associated health care practitioners to recognize and embrace the evidence that multiple sleep disorders have a direct and adverse effect on the cardiovascular system.
At present, the opportunity and role of the physicians in this convergence are ill defined and warrant an evolutionary team approach consisting of sleep physicians and cardiologists working cooperatively with allied health professionals to tackle this healthcare crisis. The Mission of the Academy is to bridge this gap through education and networking to align cardiology and sleep practices under one coordinated philosophy.
We are dedicated and driven to our purpose.
Guiding the work of the AACSM is the awareness of negative impact of sleep disorders on cardiovascular health. The Academy educates healthcare practitioners in cardiology and sleep medicine on the interrelationship between heart disease and poor sleep.
