We are happy to kick-off by recognzing Sean Pumphrey, LCSW (Firetower Clinic), on being named the 2026 Myrna Miller Wellons Advocate of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers Nc Chapter! 🏆🎉

This honor is awarded annually to someone who has demonstrated a strong passion to advocate for the needs of the social work profession and policy. Congrats, Sean!

Our next is Franklin Duruobasa, MD! When asked why he picked ECU Family Medicine, Dr. Duruobasa said, "proximity played a huge part, but my talk with the Program Director during the interview was excellent. On Friday, ECU Family Medicine said a fond farewell to Dr. Jamie Messenger. She has been an important member of the Interprofessional Diabetes Clinic team as well as a longstanding faculty member and the Pharmacotherapy Section Head. Dr. Messenger has touched our ECU Family Medicine community in so many ways. We wish her all the best!
