Meet the PT Club Executive Board for our 2026 cohort!👋

The purpose of PT Club is to represent the physical therapy profession on the East Carolina University campus and to promote the physical therapy profession locally, statewide, and nationally through academic, social and civic service. Each cohort has an Executive Board that oversees all activities of the club. Membership in PT Club assists with paying for costs such as boards prep books, our annual PT Gala, and our graduation symposium💜💛

Congratulations to Lynnz Brewer (he/they), Class of 2024, on accepting a job at Results Physiotherapy in Raleigh, NC. Lynnz says “I love getting to help so many people with their pelvic health concerns! Danielle McDowell enjoyed her clinical rotation in the Outpatient setting at Kinetic Physical Therapy in Greenville, NC. She says her patient population was mainly neurological and vestibular populations. She also got to shadow being a first responder to high school sports games and practices. 💜💛🏴‍☠️

New ECU-led research is uncovering what actually happens inside carbon-fiber running shoes — from joint mechanics to ligament load — and how they might help prevent injuries, not just boost speed. Ankur Padhye, a doctoral student in ECU’s CAHS Department of Physical Therapy, and his team used motion-capture markers, pressure-sensitive insoles, and creatively modified shoes to track foot biomechanics in real time.
