Behind every cancer journey is someone quietly holding things together.

Caregivers and family members are often balancing appointments, meals, logistics, late-night worries, and the emotional weight that comes with loving someone through cancer.

Even when it comes from a place of deep love, that responsibility can become exhausting.

At Salto Health, we are working to make caregiving feel a little more supported with practical resources, education, and tools designed for both patients and the people caring for them.

If you are supporting someone through cancer, you do not have to carry it all or figure everything out alone. Explore Salto Health’s resources to find practical guidance and ways to navigate the caregiving journey.

Navigating a serious or chronic medical condition often comes with challenges that extend far beyond treatment itself, including practical, emotional, and financial uncertainty.

That’s why we’re proud to share a resource from Triage Cancer / Triage Health, who are hosting a free conference to support patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals through these important conversations.

Today is World Ovarian Cancer Day.

It’s a moment to raise awareness, and to support the women and families navigating something that often goes undetected until it’s harder to treat. It’s also a reminder of the importance of building thoughtful, accessible, and responsive systems of support for the realities of life during and after cancer.

By the numbers:

• Ovarian cancer is the 2nd most common gynecologic cancer in the U.S.

• There are 0 screening tests

• When caught early, the 5-year survival rate is 92%

• Over 21,000 women will be diagnosed this year

The challenge is that symptoms are often subtle, and easy to dismiss as everyday digestive issues.

Know what to look for. Listen to your body.

If something feels off and persists, speak with your doctor.

Common symptoms include:
• Bloating
• Pelvic or abdominal pain
• Feeling full quickly
• Frequent urination

Early detection can make all the difference. Awareness can save lives.
Sharing this could help someone recognize symptoms sooner.

Cancer is a confusing experience for more than just the person diagnosed— family and friends often don’t know where to start, what to say or what can help.

👏🏽 We’re here to help simplify those confusing Google searches, late-night scrolls, and manic Chat GPT questions.

There’s no “right” way for every single patient and survivor, but Shannon’s compiled a few tips she’s heard the most from survivors themselves.

Are you or a loved one a survivor? Let’s chat in the comments about some other ways your circle of support can help you.

A mother’s strength isn’t always loud or visible. Sometimes, it’s found in the quiet ways she continues to show up— through the hard days, the uncertain moments, and everything in between.

Even in the face of cancer, her love remains steady, holding space for others while navigating so much herself. If this resonates, we’d love to hear what motherhood has looked like for you (or someone you love) on this journey.

This Mother’s Day, small moments of care can mean everything. We’re loving thoughtful tea sets and products as a gentle way to bring comfort and pause.

Mother’s Day can hold many emotions. For some, it’s a day of celebration. For others, it’s a quieter, more tender kind of day shaped by healing, caregiving, or simply taking things one moment at a time.

Small acts of care can still mean everything, like a warm cup of tea, or a moment of rest in comfy clothes after treatment; simple comforts that create space to pause and breathe.

If your mom, or a mom you know, is undergoing cancer treatment, we invite you to explore some of our curated essentials to say “I’m thinking of you in this moment”.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can say is, “I’m here.” Community does not need to be loud; it is built in small moments of showing up, checking in, and reminding someone they are not alone.

Part 2 of Life After Treatment with Salto Health founder and survivor

After a cancer diagnosis and journey through treatment, whether chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery, it can be challenging to step into that strange gray area afterward.

The period when you still need support, but some survivors can find it even more difficult to ask for it.

Survivorship and life after treatment look different, and we all need a different kind of support, and that is perfectly okay!

Your circle wants to help, so don’t be afraid to lean into support and ask when you need it.

Are you in this new chapter? Take a moment to think about what help is needed today— a nap, help driving kids around, continued nausea or hydration support, housework, so you can get the rest you need.

We’d love to hear what helped you most during recovery and how you found ways to ask for that help.

💬 Let’s chat in the comments.
