Stress is one of the main factors in substance use and, for those in recovery, one of the primary triggers of relapse. Our bodies are designed to respond to stressors, but it’s increasingly common that we max out our nervous systems due to the demands and pressures of today’s world.

Healthier support exists, and we owe it to ourselves to explore those avenues. At Life Line Services, we provide a combination of medicinal protocols and therapeutic practices to treat patients. We meet you where you are and walk alongside of you as you heal. 🌱

Whether it’s greater self-awareness or wondering about a loved one, knowing what alcohol abuse disorder looks like can be the beginning of betterment.

🍸Alcohol abuse looks like going beyond “drinking too much” to include a loss of control, dependence, and negative consequences.

🥂 Those with alcohol abuse disorder do drink socially, but often also alone, sneaking drinks and/or hiding alcohol at home or at work.

đź’” Relationships tend to be strained and degrade the deeper into addiction one is.

It’s common not to notice there’s a problem for a while, but it’s important to know the signs that you or someone you care about may be in trouble.

If you suspect you have a problem with alcohol, we can help. Call us and let’s chat. (864) 775-5509 🌱

We know how hard getting clean and sober is, as well as staying clean and sober. It’s a good idea to check in with yourself on a regular basis... to gauge how you’re doing on your journey. You may be at the very beginning, or you could be in the maintenance/sustaining phase of your recovery.

This series of questions - or ones very similar - are often used as a barometer of sorts. Reflect on them honestly... note and celebrate your successes. Where you’ve fallen short of your goal, don’t dwell and allow guilt and shame to creep in. Instead, spend some time thinking about it constructively.

You can do this! We are here to help — reach out to us via our website or by calling the clinic at (864) 775-5509 to schedule a free assessment. If you’re a past patient, let’s regroup together. You’re always welcome here. 🌱

Today, SC’s Attorney General issued a public safety advisory about a new, deadly synthetic opioid that’s begun circulating. We’ve included the press release here to help keep you informed. Please share with your loved ones. 🌱

PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY: A deadly new synthetic opioid known as cychlorphine has been identified in South Carolina. This is poison, plain and simple. It’s extremely potent and often mixed into other drugs without users knowing, turning one mistake into a fatal outcome. The people pushing this don’t care who they kill, their goal is profit, and the cost is your kids and your loved ones. Parents, talk to your children now. One exposure can be enough. As your Attorney General, I will use every tool available to stop this and protect South Carolina families.

We’ve said this before, and it’s worth repeating: Addiction does not discriminate. We applaud Tiger’s decision to seek treatment, with a horizon stabilized through long-term recovery.

Tiger Woods will step away to focus on his well-being and recovery after his DUI arrest in Florida, he announced on social media.

MAT (Medicine-Assisted Treatment) is a pillar of our Philosophy of Care and treatment protocols here at Life Line Services. Last month, we shared a video from Dr. Fass, a Staff Physician at our clinic, that explained the importance of the “M” (Medicine) in MAT. Now, as a part 2, Dr. Caldwell, our clinic’s Medical Director, shares more about the “AT” (-Assisted Treatment) in MAT. While medicine is certainly a necessary component in treatment for opioid or alcohol abuse, complete healing can only be achieved by coupling it with long-term self-care strategies.

Take the next step. Schedule a free assessment with one of our medical providers today by calling (864) 775-5509 or emailing us at info@lifelinesvcs.com. Explore our website using the link in our profile.

Often, we wonder what amount is too much. How many pills? How many drinks? Our slide into dependence is gradual, as is our further descent into addiction.

But dependence and addiction are significantly different. One is more physical and biological, while the other is more neurochemical. One’s a disorder; the other, a disease, with unique signs and symptoms. The info we’ve shared here helps us understand which is which.

If you or someone you love is dependent or addicted to opioids or alcohol, please contact us. We would like to give you hope again through our caring approach to treatment and recovery. Your substance abuse is not only *your* struggle. It profoundly affects those closest to you. Children who grow up with a parent who’s addicted to drugs, including alcohol, face significantly higher risks of physical, mental, and behavioral challenges. They are 4x more likely to develop a substance abuse disorder. Children of addicts perform lower in school and have higher drop-out rates. As adults, they often have trouble trusting others and forming healthy relationships, experience lower socioeconomic status, and for females, re-victimize themselves by partnering with someone who has substance abuse disorder.

But you have the power to protect your children by beginning to take responsibility and care for yourself. We can help.

Contact us today, and we’ll schedule a free assessment for you with our in-house certified medical providers. One step at a time, you can do this. Call today - (864) 775-5509.
