A doula is not a medical support role, but instead provides emotional, physical, and spiritual support in this key experience of your life. While all birth experiences cannot be planned and "managed", a doula is there to nurture and care for the birthing parent. As an all-inclusive birth doula, I welcome all parents of all beliefs to consult with me. Whether you're having a home birth or planned cesarean, whether you want an epidural or not, first-time birth or seventh-time, I would love to provide you with support. Please do not hesitate to reach out, a sister's embrace is just a moment away!!

Hello, sweet friends! This is a reminder that I am a full-time teacher, so I generally only offer services in the summer.

That said, please don’t hesitate to contact me with inquiries. Even if I cannot offer the services you need, I can potentially help you connect with other resources.

Thank you, and stay safe out there!

Women in labour are increasingly being subjected to unnecessary and unwelcome interventions such as caesarean sections, warns WHO

"Not all babies sleep through the night by six months. I have found it quite common to find stories about babies not even sleeping through the night by age one.

What works for one baby may not work for every baby. And that's okay.

Not all parents will feel comfortable with the sleep training that involves letting their baby cry. And that's okay."

I have spent countless hours on Google and Pinterest trying to figure out why my baby won't sleep longer stretches. I kept thinking there must be a reason, an answer, a solution. And while I didn't find a magical potion or combination to get my baby to sleep, what I did find out was: We are not alon...

Partners: your presence matters. You may think you don't know what you're doing...you may be uncertain if you have what it takes...

But the truth is that all you need to do is BE WITH your partner. Hold space. You don't have to fix it or make it go away. You just need to exist with and honor the person that you love...the person that you love who is bringing your baby earthside.

Josh and Casey illustrated this so beautifully during the birth of their first born daughter. Josh held her hand, never left her side. You can see the empathy in his face and the passion in his embrace. THIS is what birth can look like. It can be the most incredible depiction of the love you share...

New theories are challenging a long-standing notion that the difficulty of childbirth is simply an evolutionary trade-off.

This is a great way to try to better understand the difference between what you may be feeling and what you may be thinking after birth!

I love this illustration!
I know depression and anxiety are expressed in different ways, but I like how concise this description is.
And if you need help, get help! Call PSI or Baby Blues Connection and let's find you an avenue of support--because it does get better!
