Was looking back on pics to make a reel and saw these. I had really bad gestational diabetes that required insulin and couldn’t stop the weight gain. I felt awful, felt embarrassed but most importantly realized Its not your fault if you find yourself in this same scenario.

For any of you who have GDM or cant stop the weight gain or just in general had difficulty pregnancies that didnt go as plan, Im with you. I wanted to have easy breezy vaginal deliveries but instead had 3 c-sections and major pain issues post op.

I usually follow the guidelines when it comes to pregnancy but IMO the weight gain guidelines are far too simplistic and no matter what I ate (or didnt eat) the weight kept piling on due to my insulin resistance.

This was the initial event that started me on my wellness journey and deciding to learn more about nutrition and lifestyle. I finally lost the baby weight with mounjaro, lifting weights, veggies and proteins well as just overall shifting my mentality to one of self love and patience (but boy did the GLP-1 help with that).

So anyway, heres to you if your pregnant and sending ❤️ to all you who feel like you have no control of anything.

Hadn’t yet posted that I had the honor of giving a grand rounds titled “Updated Guidelines on Menopause and Hormone Therapy” to the physicians at my community hospital . I really love this topic because I believe the science shows how beneficial it can be for women. Its an exciting time because I see younger MDs interested in becoming up to date and women prioritizing their quality of life and long term health.

For any clinicians out there I am happy to do this presentation to get you up to speed! Take Home Points were:
1. Vast majority of women are candidates for HT
2. HT is the onky FDA approved treatment for osteoporosis
3. Estradiol alone appears to DECREASE risk of breast cancer
4. Micronized Prog (in comparison) to synthetic progestins does not appear to increase risk of breast cancer
5. HT when started within 10 years of menopause appears to decrease CV risk by up to 30%
6. Vaginal Estrogen us safe for everyone (even breast cancer survivors)
7. HT does not need to be routinely discontinued in women over 65yo
8. Women on HT have a lower all cause mortality by up to 30%
