I am always asked for breakfast ideas and here’s what is on the menu this week ….. Pumpkin Overnight Oats!

Recipe:
🌾 1/4 cup organic sprouted whole oats
🌱 2 tbsp chia seeds
💧 2/3 cup water
🍂 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Mix and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning stir and top with:
🥣 ½ container nonfat Greek yogurt (or Skyr — my favorite!)
🎃 ½ cup organic pumpkin purée
🍁 Top with 1 tsp pure maple syrup

This meal alone has 14g of fiber and will keep you full past lunchtime!

🍋 Fertility-Friendly “Ice Cream” (No Added Sugar!) 🍋

When sugar cravings hit, this simple mango “ice cream” is a nourishing way to satisfy your sweet tooth and support your fertility goals.

All you need:
🥭 1 (10 oz) bag organic frozen mango
🥣 1 container organic nonfat Greek yogurt

Blend until creamy and enjoy right away — or freeze for a thicker texture.

Mango is rich in antioxidants and vitamins A + C, while Greek yogurt adds protein and probiotics that balance blood sugar and support hormone health. Reducing added sugars can help lower inflammation and create a more supportive environment for conception. 💛

Trying to get pregnant and feeling stressed, tired and/or anxious? Let’s look at your cortisol levels! Cortisol is known as the “stress hormone” and is necessary in small amounts, but if we are in constant “fight or flight“ mode, cortisol levels can remain elevated. This can interfere with menstrual cycle regularity, ovulation and progesterone levels. All necessary in order to achieve pregnancy. Contact us today to have a simple saliva cortisol test sent to you or stop by the office and pick one up to find out if elevated cortisol may be interfering with your ability to get pregnant (or lose weight or get the sleep you need). If so, we will come up with a plan to address it. Telehealth appointments available.

If you experience any of the following: migraines, IBS or other digestive issues, skin problems, joint problems, autoimmune conditions, brain fog, fatigue and/or blood sugar issues, these are signs of a disrupted gut microbiome. Research supports if your gut microbiome is out of balance, so is your vaginal microbiome which can possibly explain failed attempts at achieving or sustaining pregnancy. We can fix that!

Are you trying to get pregnant unsuccessfully or have an irregular cycle for seemingly unknown reasons? Saliva testing throughout a cycle can provide insight into reproductive hormones during the month (up to 45 days) whereas day 2 hormone testing tests only that. Convenient, noninvasive and comprehensive, saliva testing can be a game changer. Recently I had a client whose cycle appeared “normal”, but around day 25 she would always start spotting. Her doctor was not concerned yet she had been trying to get pregnant for over a year. She would have her progesterone tested 7 days post ovulation, and it was always a good level to sustain a pregnancy. Well, after she did a month of saliva testing, we were able to see based on results that on day 24 her progesterone dropped sharply! Made total sense based on her symptoms, and this was not anything that standard bloodwork was going to pick up. Interested? I see so many patients with lowered thyroid function that have not been tested by doctors or their levels are on the upper side of “in range” and considered normal. Lower thyroid function can increase prolactin levels and interfere with ovulation. Just one reason to get tested.
